The modern black and gold elements of the Disney Minnie Beauty by Sephora Collection are simply stunning and even though the products are branded--as to appeal to Disney collectors--they are clean and classic enough to attract beauty lovers as well.
(4) *Disney Minnie Beauty by SEPHORA COLLECTION Color Eyeshadow Palette: I couldn't get over the buttery feel of these eyeshadows; finely milled with immese color payoff (in an exellent range of neutrals, gem tones, satin finish and mattes, I might add), these 20 hues peform as well as some of my most favorite formulas!

Happy Friday, lovelies! Today's provides an image-heavy encounter with the Tom Ford 2016 Soleil Collection, which, incidentally, is pure bliss. From the white lacquered packaging to the lush hues housed within, the products (currently available at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks and Sephora) are effortlessly wearable and endlessly beautiful.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
From lip color and eyeshadow to fragrance and bronzer, I have had a ball integrating the spring and summer Tom Ford releases into my regular routine...the saturated colors have invited me to stray from my comfort zone while still feeling suitable for everyday wear.
Le Mepris (also reviewed HERE) is a super-flattering coral-meets-red...this will be my summer shade.
Aphrodite is a lovely, cool-toned fuchsia pink
Temptation Waits is a rich russet brown that looks almost like a deep berry plum on the lips...so unique.
The Ultra-Rich Lip Color formula is extremely hydrating, intensely-pigemented and impressively long-lasting. It has a touch of shine (more than the TF traditional cream formula) but more opacity than the sheer versions. The formula feels weightless on the lips and has just enough slip for easy, forgiving, relatively imprecise application, even on the go! I hope that Tom Ford continues to release new shades in this particular formula (baby pink, nude beige!) as I will continue to be a fan.
Terra is a muted light tan with no perceptible shimmer.
Gold Dust is a luminous tan (slightly warmer than Terra) with gorgeous, finely-milled gold flecks.
Bronze Age is rich, warm medium bronze with a soft, satin matte finish.
The formula applies smoothly and blends like a dream...I can wear all three shades with my light-medium NC 25 skin and rotate based on the desired look. Terra is fantastic for a light wash of color and when I want a bit of glow, I reach for Gold Dust. Due to its depth, I am confident that I will be reaching for Bronze Age all summer as my skin invariably takes on a touch of color.
Both shades are stunning neutrals that I have relished using for the past year (Golden Peach review HERE and Naked Bronze review HERE). The cream formula has insanely good color-payoff and doesn't crease or migrate over the course of wear. The shimmering powder shadow sets the cream and adds an additional lustre that masterfully stays in place (no fallout!) for incandescent eyes that seamlessly translate from day to night.
Retractable (no need for a sharpener!) and intensely opaque, they nimbly glide onto even the most sensitive areas of the orbital zone (like the waterline) and are completely indelible once they set. I wear the obsidian Black shade on my lower waterline almost daily and marvel at how kind the formula is to my sensitive, contact lens-wearing eyes. In the images at the end of the post, I experimented with the sky blue Azure shade (once again, along the lower waterline) and love how it provides a pop of color that still works well with neutral eye shadow selections.
Truly, this is one of the best eyeliner formulas on the market!
With notes of amber and coconut that instantly call to mind a sunbaked paradise, both elixirs artfully capture the luxurious leisure of summer; clean, comely and captivating, they are utterly beguiling.
Good things ahead, including a foundation intensive and a host of new product procurements...I am also in the midst of addressing your latest batch of lovely comments and emails; )
I'll never forget when I found out that a Surratt Beauty foundation formula was in development. As a massive proponent of this innovative brand (reviews HERE, HERE and HERE) and an unapologetic foundation-phile, I was over the moon at the prospect, earnest in my confidence that whatever base Troy Surratt created would be as phenomenal as the rest of the products in his eponymous line. Flash forward nearly two years and the foundation, which I have had the privilege of previewing, is now available online at Sephora, just in time for the VIB sale!
Consequently, I am thrilled to be able to offer a first look at this revolutionary release for which I have been constantly reaching...flawless medium coverage and one of the most stalwart, touch up-free formulas I have experienced to date, this is a foundation that indeed was worth the wait.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches of every shade and images of the foundation in action...
Housed in a streamlined, airtight tube for portability and ease of application, the *Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundationis dispensed with the click of a button through an extremely efficient duo-fiber brush. As a rule, I am generally skeptical of foundations with attached brushes but am deeply delighted by how quickly and smoothly this brush blends the formula onto the face; it is an asset rather than a novelty.
Formula: The foundation is fragrance-free and does not contain any SPF (I will update with a full ingredients list as soon as I have it). I find this to be a rare combination in today's base releases and, as one who has sensitive skin, appreciate these ommissions. Texturally-speaking it feels creamy and has a bit of a bounce. It glides across the skin in a way that feels smooth and nourishing (rather than excessively silicon-y) and feels relatively weightless, even over the course of wear.
Coverage: Buildable from sheer, all the way to nearly full coverage, this foundation works for practically every desired outcome and layers like a dream. I prefer to distribute a couple of pumps all over my face for beautiful medium coverage and love how it blurs imperfections, minimizes pores and banishes dark spots and shadows while still looking entirely natural. Countless times during my testing period, I've been complimented on my skin (while wearing Surreal Skin Foundation)...it's that undectectable.
Finish: This foundation has a truly natural skin finish. Neither overly matte nor excessively dewy, it is nearly imperceptible once applied...it simply looks like really good skin. I have also found that it continues to look even better--perhaps just a touch glowier--as the hours pass. Magnifique.
Longevity: Remarkably, this foundation is completely self-setting; that is, one does not need to follow with a powder unless that is part of a desired aesthetic. Once it sets, it stays in place for an interminable amount of time; I have worn this foundation for 14-hour teaching days and marvel at how well it holds up. There is no migrating, pooling or obvious color transfer and my skin stays looking shockingly fresh over the course of wear. It may not be touted as long-wearing, but I can personally attest to the fact that its wear-time is noteworthy, even in heat and humidity...it's practically waterproof (an errant rainstorm helped me to make this assertion).
All in all, the Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundationearns extraordinary marks in all of the categories by which I use to assess foundations. It is easy to apply, has versatile, buildable coverage and a flattering natural finish, is kind to sensitive skin and possesses tremendous lasting power. To say that I am smitten would be a serious understatement!
Innovative new component dispenses the foundation through an angled brush for effortless application and quick touch-ups
Oil-free, self-setting formula gives optimal skin-perfecting coverage with a longwearing, natural finish that is virtually undetectable
Surreally perfect skin instantaneously appears with the push of a button and the wave of a wand...skin tone evens and pores and fine lines mysteriously disappear
What it is: A skin-perfecting foundation wand that’s a foundation and a brush in one.
What it does: The Surreal Real Skin Foundation Wand leaves your skin looking flawless. Its innovative design makes application easy, and it instantly melts into skin, reducing the look of pores and fine lines. With a number of shades to choose from, it’s perfect for every skintone. This foundation features a surreal, self-setting, oil-free formula that provides an invisible, medium-to-full coverage and a long-wearing finish. It dispenses foundation through an antibacterial brush for effortless application and quick touch ups.
What else you need to know: Surratt Beauty is dedicated to the Japanese tradition of minimal elegance. The space-saving packaging is designed to be lightweight and secure, and it is recyclable.
Suggested Usage: -Remove cap. -Prime the foundation wand by clicking the button until you see foundation appear in the brush. -Beginning at the center of the face, where discoloration most often occurs, blend onto forehead, nose, and chin. Brush outwardly with short, feathery strokes. -Layer on this buildable formula in areas that may need additional coverage. -Replace the cap carefully to keep brush from splaying. -For lasting wear, set the foundation with the Surratt’s award-winning Diaphane Loose Powder in Matte or Éclatant (sold separately and REVIEWED HERE)
To keep the brush tip from splaying, replace the cap carefully: -Align the long side of the brush tip with the inside bottom wall of the cap, then carefully scoop the hairs into the cap before snapping closed. -For top performance, shampoo the brush with gentle soap once a month.
The Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundationcomes in an impressive spectrum of 15 shades ensuring that most will find their ideal match. With a diversity of undertones and levels of depth, I appreciate how inclusive this formula is!

Bottom Line: I hope you found this Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation feature immensely useful; once I had the chance to experience the efficacy of this formula, I couldn't wait to share my experience and create swatches of every shade for my lovely and loyal Beauty Professor readers!
The Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation is every bit as magnificent as I had dreamed it would be...buildable and long-wearing with a gorgeous skin finish, it is beyond exciting to see this formula come to fruition.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this new foundation and welcome your questions...please leave them in the comments section so we can discuss!
Good things ahead including a travel beauty story, a Decorte Beauty feature and a host of new product procurements!
Happy weekend to you! If you've been following me on Instagram, you may know that I've spent the last few days in Bermuda; being thousands of miles away from home in a tropical paradise doesn't stop me from producing content for Beauty Professor, however! Consequently, today I am excited to share my modest Sephora VIB haul (originally forcasted HERE) and I coupled the brief breakdown with a beauty and style look worn today on this gorgeous island.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
Right off the top, I added three staples into my cart:
Beauty Blenders...the black shade looks so chic and I use this wonder sponge daily so I picked up two.
SK-II Mid-Day Essence(reviewed HERE)...always in my purse, this consistently refreshes my skin and brightens my complexion.
Sephora Cotton Pads...I have tried a myriad of cotton pads over the years and consistently come back to this version, time and again...soft and absorbent, these pads are great for toner and I appreciate that they do not leave white lint behind. I've probably purchased well over 100 packs in the last decade!
I also was compelled to buy the YSL Top Secrets All in One BB Cream Skintone Corrector in Medium. As an unapologetic foundation-phile, I was lured in by the great reviews on this formula and found the purported skin-smoothing properties to be attractive. After testing it for the past couple of days, I am apt to say that I am completely happy with this purchase.
Worn alone, the Medium shade (good for NC 25-30 skin) adds a wash of sheer color to the skin and instantly minimizes the look of pores and unevenness. With SPF 25 and a priming effect, this shimmer-free formula also prepares the skin for the foundation to come and increases performance and longevity of wear. It has been kind to my sensitive skin and has kept my makeup entirely intact over the course of long hours in the sunshine of Bermuda. Highly recommended!

I've had my eye on the Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Blush Nudee for quite some time now and the Sephora sale was a logical time to finally make it mine. This warm rose quartet features a rich plum brown, a soft dusty thistle, a warm rose bronze and a pale, pink-tinged beige. As gorgeous on the eyes as in the compact, these shadows are buttery with stunning pigmentation and crease-free wear. My only regret is that I did not get this sooner!

Completely intrigued with the idea of a "milky lip," I couldn't help but order a couple of the new Dior Addict Milky Tints in Milky Pastel and Milky Plum, respectively. With a dash of sheer, undeniably milky color, this formula offers more pigmentation than a traditional lip gloss while still possessing more translucence than most lipsticks. The nhon-sticky ybrid is interesting...hydrating and shiny while providing a bit of a stain, I think I'll be reaching for these effortless beauties a lot in the coming days.
Milky Pastel (top) and Milky Plum (botton).

I was duly intrigued with the Burberry Full Kisses in English Rose. This full coverage lipstick offers intense moisture and impressive color payoff, especially for a formula with a luminous finish. I find that I get 3-4 hours of comfortable wear and adore the glowing and natural look and ease of wear of this new release; English Rose is a quintessential nude pink that would flatter a spectrum of skintones. In sum, I am majorly looking forward to picking up additional shades in this formula!
A swatch of Burberry Full Kisses in English Rose.
The following images reflect all products in action...I am wearing:
Levi's 501 Denim Cutoffs...these are cut perfectly for my taste; not too long, not to short, not too wide, not too tight...simply brilliant.
Miz Mooz Cali Angel Cuff Sandal: These sandals are unique and comfortable...with a little wood heel and interesting ankle cuff accent, they look just as reasonable with shorts as they do with jeans and skirts. Lovig the Miz Moozbrand as of late!
Dior Chicago 2 Strauss Aviators: These were indeed a splurge but I have no regrets...from the sturdy frame to the delicate crystal accents (on the sides...close up of these sunnies soon) the slightly oversized aviator shape is destined to become a modern classic.
Burberry on the eyes!
Last look.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this haul and style story! What did YOU get at the Sephora sale?
Do tell ; )
Good things ahead, including a host of new product procurements, a travel beauty spotlight and another foundation feature...cannot wait to share!
I hope your week is off to a marvelous start! I just returned from a whirlwind trip to the beautiful island of Bermuda and, in the midst of jet lag and a crazy busy work week, wanted to share some of my travel essentials upon which I relied heavily. Although I packed much more than what's pictured, I found that these products were always within constant reach on my hotel vanity, in my beach bag and, of course, in my handbag for the evenings thereby mandating distinction. Also, I am excited to share an introduction to the hotly-anticipated Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette (sign up for access on Beautylish) with a bevy of swatches!

My most-used travel beauty + skincare selections were as follows:
BOSE Noise Cancelling Headphones...there may be no better friend on an airplane than these plush and posh headphones; the noise-cancelling feature is invaluable and they almost make me forget there's coughing man on one side of me and a crying baby on the other! So worth it.
*La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream in Nude...this gorgeous tinted skincare offers medium coverage, SPF protection and a stunning, lasting finish. I am competely in love with this opulent hybrid product...full swatch-heavy, closeup review forthcoming!
*DECORTE Powder Foundation in Warm Beige (to be reviewed soon)...I am wildly impressed with the DECORTE line, recently launched stateside exclusively at Saks. The powder foundation has an otherwordly smoothness that makes the skin look its best all day. Full review of the DECORTE base products coming up on BP soon.
SK-II Mid-Day Essence (reviewed HERE)...always in my purse and forever refreshing my skin, both in and post-flight and throughout the day.
Beauty Blender (reviewed HERE)...there's nothing better to achieve a flawless foundation finish.
*8 Greens...8G Essential Greens Booster is a tasty, ffervescent tablet with nine calories per tablet that packs a nutritional punch. One tablet has as much vitamin C as five oranges, as much vitamin B5 as 20 cups of broccoli, as much vitamin B3 as 18 cups of carrots, as much B6 as seven cups of lima beans, as much B12 as nine cups of milk and as much zinc as 10 cups of asparagus. It contains Spinach, Wheatgrass, Kale, Blue green algae, Spirulina, Chlorella, Barley grass and Aloe vera and I loved knowing that I was able to effortlessly get green nutrients in a single tablet, even while in another country!
*Surratt Prismatique Eyes in Neutral Eyes (reviewed HERE)...constantly sold out at Sephora, I am so glad that this brown and rose gold combination is still readily available at Net-A-Porter...I will never be without this eyeshadow wonder.
*By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bubble Glow (reviewed HERE)...swept along the lower lashline, this baby pink shade adds an alert effect to tired eyes and looks lovely with all eyeshadow color schemes.
*Youngblood Cream Blush in Champagne Life...a gleaming champagne pink, this creamy formula glides on cheeks and the high points of the face for a lit-from-within look that looks impeccably glowy and fresh.
*Darphin Beauty Revealing Eye and Lip Contour Cream...this latest release from Darphin targets the sensitive eye and lip area to deliver intense hydration while smoothing fine lines and evening out discoloration. The diminutive bottle is purse and bedside-friendly and the results are face-friendly!
*Hourglass Panoramic Lip Liner in Eden (reviewed HERE)...extremely long lasting with remarkable color-payoff, this lip liner is virtually waterproof and looks marvelous with a spectrum of nude and pink lip color shades.
*Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme in Citronade Rose (reviewed HERE)...worn over Hourglass Eden and LMdB Bondi Beach, this rounds out my trusty trio lip mix as of late. Perennially in my purse, his shade, in particular, is my absolute favorite in this high-performance formula.
*Travalo Atomizerfilled withByredo Mojave Ghost (reviewed HERE)...this atomizer is so easy to fill and completely travel safe. Of course, I had to fill it with the unique and demure Mojave Ghost...I never tire of the fragrance.
Dior Chicago 2 Strass Aviators (reviewed HERE)...both classic and modern, these fit the face like a dream and offer immense sun protection. A worthy splurge, indeed.

The Luma Brush.
The only hair styling product I brought on the trip was the *Luma Brush; this revolutionary tool smoothes and straightens hair in minutes for the silkiest hair imaginable. I find that it tames my often tangled hair and adds a glossy managability that lasts the day.
Since I wash my hair and often go to bed with it wet, I wake up with dents that are, thankfully, quickly combatted by this brush...truly, I only need five minutes to make my hair look like I've spent nearly an hour on it. I've learned that there is nothing like a time-saving hot brush for incredibly lush hair!

The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette.
Finally, I am over the moon to share preliminary details and a host of swatches of the brand new *Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette (also, sign up for access on Beautylish)! This all-inclusive gem includes three eye shades, a bronzer, two blushes and a highlighter for a full face in mere seconds.
I have been experimenting with it for the past week and am utterly smitten by the buttery smooth color payoff of the formula as well as the face-flattering nature of the hues. This palette is particularly masterful in rushed situations...I simply use a single eyeshadow brush to layer and blend the three eye shades and a cheek brush to add warmth, flush and highlight for one of the most low-maintenance, high-polish outcomes possible. I will be doing a follow up post with a dedicated beauty look in the very near future...in the meanwhile, I would try to get my hands on this treasure!

// Fragrance //
Astutely describing fragrance is not generally my wheelhouse; I am, however, particular about what I wear and prefer to sum up my choices in a few key words...here they are:
(1) *Paco Rabanne Olympia: Citrus meets vanilla, this fragrance has a classic yet unique appeal that works well in warm weather.
(2) Byredo Mojave Ghost(reviewed HERE): Violet and sandalwood with a musky, fruity twist, I wear this every other day of the week...adoration doesn't even begin to describe my affinity for this juice!
(3) *Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle(also available at Nordstrom): A single spray transports me to a sunbaked Italian terrace, entwined with vines and sweet flowers and graced with view of the sea. Bergamot, jasmine and gardenia play off notes of mandarin for a fresh and summery scent.
(4) Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee(reviewed HERE): Lush vanilla with an unexpectedly cool finish, this fragrance never ceases to lift my spirits.
(5) Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 (reviewed HERE): Luxurious and decadent, this is all at once sweet and musky, clean and mysterious, wearable and memorable, timeless and entirely contemporary. I own nothing like it...truly an original.
(6) *Maison Martin Margiela Replica Flower Market: Bursting with the intoxicating aroma of fresh cut flowers (sans the sneeze inducing allergens!), this is every floral lover's dream come true.
(7) *CK2: Woodsy and rich with a clean dry down, this is apropos for both men and women...timeless yet modern.
// LIPS //
(8) *Le Metier de Beaute Waterproof Lip Liner in Nylon (reviewed HERE): I have almost finished this gloriously neutral lip pencil; creamy, pigmented and authentically waterproof, Nylon performs impeccably with my pinky nude lip colors.
(11) Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani #101: This lush medium taupy nude brown has an iridescent shift that looks gorgeous over lip liner (like Nylon) and lasts for hours. I bought it on a whim and couldn't be happier with the outcome!

(12) *Kiehl's Tumeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque: True story...a couple of weeks ago, I had a little breakout due (I think) to an adverse reaction to a product I tried and this mask helped to completely heal my skin within a day or two. It brightens, smoothes and tightens with every treatment...I am impressed.
(13) *Decorte Powder Foundation #303 Warm Beige (discussed HERE): I cannnot get enough of this extra silky foundation powder; it has earned a permanent place in my handbag! Full swatch-heavy feature coming up soon.
(14)*Sisley Paris Sisleya L'Integral Anti-Age Cream: A decadent indulgence, indeed, this rich cream targets all signs of aging (lines, sagging, fatigue and uneven skin tone) for noticeably improved skin upon waking. I am now on jar #2 of this gem and find myself gravitating towards its nourishing properties when the air is hot and dry (as it is currently in Southern CA).
(15) Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation #123 (reviewed HERE): I am finally on to tube #2 of this cult favorite (which is a major feat for this foundation-phile) and appreciate it as much as I did 2 years ago! With buildable coverage and an extremely natural, HD finish, there is truly nothing like it on the market.
(16) *Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder: Gossamer light and completely translucent, I've been loving this to set concealer in my under eye region.

DECORTE Soft Powder Foundation.
Ever since having the opportunity to try it last month, I have been heavily relying upon the wonders of the *DECORTE Soft Powder Foundation (reviewed HERE). The Foundation Case (sold separately) is crafted of a light yet stalwart metal and the refillable pans ensure that waste is avoided.
Finely milled with lush color payoff, the formula offers light to medium coverage, banishes shine and keeps skin looking fresh and healthy for hours on end. I use it to set my t-zone in the morning and touch up in the late afternoon; and although it instantly perfects the skin, the texture is virtually invisible. An absolutely exemplary formula, this powder has been a permanent fixture in my handbag as of late!
I appreciate the sturdy plastic shield that protects the powder and keeps the mirror clean...genius!

The New Nudes.
Finally, the *DECORTE V Fusion Lip Paletteis utterly divine! In two color families (Nude and Red), this lip color formula is unlike anything I've ever tried. The lip color is thin yet pigmented, semi-matte, yet hydrating and impressively long lasting.
The New Nudes has every nude--from pinky beige to light russet brown--for endless color combinations and personalized customization. This palette is truly a must for nude lovers and for those who prefer more vibrant hues, The New Reds is also swatched below!
EXCLUSIVELY AT SAKS. It's a paradox: Hyper-color and condition in one. Double-pigment technology provides extreme tonal color while helping soften delicate skin with botanicals for a most comfortable, just-matte finish. Long-wearing. Non-drying. Made in Japan.

Good things ahead, including a fresh release from SUQQU and a host of new product procurements...
Happy May, lovelies! The SUQQU Summer 2016 Collection has just launched and today I am over the moon to share a close up of two of launches. Exclusive to Selfridges in the UK, the streamlined offerings reflect a lushly warm and sunset-esque color palette that feels decidely fresh and appropriate for the rising temperatures that lie ahead.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
I received an eyeshadow palette (one of two) and lip color (one of two), both of which resonate for my preference for warm neutrals. As to be expected from the venerable SUQQU line, the formulas are marked by intense pigmentation, smooth application and significant lasting power.
The *Eyeshadow Palette in EX-31 Gyoukou is unlike anything currently inhabiting my collection. Comprised of four distinct shades, this palette takes the notion of a sunset and infuses a delightfully modern element. There is a pale and shimmering yellow gold (luminous), a creamy white (matte), a rich and vibrant orange (matte) and an earthy chocolate brown (matte).
Velvety and color-saturated, the shadows feel like butter and for hours on the lids without fallout or creasing. Although I was initially intimidated by the stark vibrancy of the shades, I am now completely smitten with their singular beauty.
The *lip color in EX-20 Hyaku Daidai is a resplendent persimmon coral with gleaming luminosity. Richly pigmented, the formulation features a marvelously moisturizing feel and stunning shine that lasts for hours.
Generally not attracted to shades this deep (I would deem this a "medium coral red"), I have already found myself wearing this particular hue on more than one occasion in the past couple of weeks. You truly cannot go wrong with this radiant lip color from SUQQU!

For the look that follows, I combined the featured SUQQU Summer 2016 products with the following skincare and beauty gems:
*Mila Moursi Revitalizing and Beautifying Body Oil(reviewed HERE): My mom and I absolutely love this oil (we're both on bottle #2) and use it post-shower to intensely hydrate. It absorbs instantly and adds a soft gleam that makes skin look healthy and supple.
*NUXE Nuxuriance Ultra Eye and Lip Contour: I am quite impressed with this light cream; tapped along my oribital area and the contour of my mouth, I have noted that fine lines are diminished and immese moisture abounds!
YSL Top Secrets All in One BB Cream Skintone Corrector in Medium (reviewed HERE): I've been using this skin pefector as a primer and find that it helps to provide an extremely smooth canvas for the makeup that follows. All the positive reviews on this formula make perfect sense to me now.
*Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation #5 (reviewed HERE): Still one of my favorite product launches of the year, this foundation is tremendous...potent yet invisible coverage and an extremely long lasting finish, I cannot recommend it enough.
Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Beige (reviewed HERE): I've had this particular concealer for well over two years and find that it brightens the undereyes so masterfully that I rarely reach for anything else.
*Jenny Patinkin Domed Multi-Blender Brush (reviewed HERE): A concealer's best friend, this brush blends cream products into the skin with such aptitude...I have multiple stashed all over my house!
Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed: Initially captivated by the breathtaking packaging, I am happy to report that the powder itself is marvelous. Bronzed is a buildable warm tan that will compliment light and medium skin tones.
*Chikuhodo GSN 04 Brush (reviewed HERE): I use this brush for bronzer more than anything and love how well it distributes powder formulas.
*Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer #15 Golden Apricot (also available at CdPB and reviewed HERE): Ever so opulent, this highlighter has been on constant rotation in my routine. It imparts a warm and ethereal light, unmatched by the other highlighters in my vast collection.
*Surratt Beauty Artistique Highlight Brush: Surratt Beauty makes some of most luxurious (and supremely soft) brushes on the market and this particular version works so well with powder highlighter formulas.
The following images reflect all products in action in afternoon sunshine...Blouse by Equipment:
I used the orange shade as a base, applied the brown in the crease, blended the cream shade to my brown bones and tapped the gold tone into the center of my upper eye lid. I also swept a mix of gold and orange along my lower lash line for continuity.

// ON TREND MOM //
Modern and sophisticated, this mom is always aligned with the latest launches:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Custom Eyeshadow Quad(reviewed HERE): I selected four shades that satisfy my adoration for warm rosy neutrals and couldn't be happier with the formulation and peformance of these shadows; pigmented and smooth, they last for hours, even without a shadow primer.
Urban Decay Beached Bronzer #2: Gorgeous packaging is just the beginning...this powder bronzer imparts a natural and believable tan that flatters light and medium skin tones alike.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Ballerina: This soft rose gold highlighter is a cult favorite for all the right reasons...subtle yet beautifully glowing, it looks amazing on the upper cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose.
*IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara (reviewed HERE): My love for this formula is no secret (on tube #3) and I take every opportunity to share the wonder of this jet black lengthening and volumizing formula that works well on even the most sensitive of eyes.
Cartier Love Bracelet: I've received so many reader questions my vintage version over the years that I couldn't help but suggest this iconic classic. Because it screws on, I haven't taken mine off in 7 years which makes it feel like a natural part of my body at this point! Last week, I had the privilege of meeting and inteviewing Victoria Christian of Clive Christian at Neiman Marcus Fashion Island. As the eldest daughter of British designer Clive Christian, the ebullient Victoria travels the world as the ambassador of the venerable Clive Christian fragrance line, which is noted to have created The World's Most Expensive Perfume.
Kindly scroll on for our interview and an introduction to the stunning Clive Christian brand...
Meeting Victoria Christian...she is warm, knowledgable and a highly enjoyable conversationalist. Photo courtesy of Laura Lynn.
The origin of the Clive Christian line is a fairytale in and of itself. Discovered in the floorboards of their English Manor, Victoria and her father unearthed an original bottle of perfume from a perfumery that had been crowned by Queen Victoria in 1872. Inspired by this kismet, Mr. Christian began working with the fine art of perfume and in 1999, Victoria joined her father to officially launch the opulent Clive Christian Perfume Collection.
Since I already understood the fascinating history of the collection, I used our interview to focus on the present and future of the line:
Beauty Professor: Which distinct qualities make Clive Christian vastly different from its contemporaries?
Victoria Christian: "The heritage of the Clive Christian Perfume house dates back to the 1800s in England when Queen Victoria herself granted he unique honour of the image of her royal crown as a mark of excellence and this really signifies the level of luxury, quality and exquisite craftsmanship that goes in to every drop of each of our perfumes. When Clive took ownership of the perfumery almost 20 years ago he restored the original concentrations of absolute essence - the purest and truest form of Mother Nature, best visualised by a drop of May Rose which sits at the heart of the 1872 for Women and in the absolute concentration brings 170 rose heads in a single drop - and Clive also brought unparalleled complexity to his perfume formulas - in every drop there are a minimum of over 100 different ingredients all in their absolute form. This level of luxury results in an extraordinary complex drop of perfume; one that takes on and enhances the personality of the wearer and their individual skin and has great subtlety and longevity. After all...when you fall in love with something you really do want it to last!"
BP: What is your favorite Clive Christian fragrance and why?
VC: "What a difficult question! At home I always keep a full Ouse of all twelve of our perfumes and I select a perfume or two by day and by occasion to accessorise my look invisibly and to enhance my particular mood or the way that I wish to feel as each perfume had such a distinct character. On this journey to California I have chosen to bring X for Women (a sensual, sexy perfume with an intoxicating Egyptian Jasmine at the heart) V for Women (a sophisticated complexity with a spirited body of bright orange blossom) and No.1 for Men ( an Oriental perfume with rare Indian Sandalwood, orris butter and nutmeg with a distinguished, confident finish) and I wear them individually or combine them to complement my look and mood."
BP: Do you have any tips to help one find their "signature scent?"
VC: "First stop would be to visit the Clive Christian Perfume counter at NM, wear no fragrance so that your palette is clear and set aside 20 minutes or so. Allow our Perfume Specialist to introduce you to the heritage of the perfumery and this level of concentration and complexity of perfume. Whilst sampling the perfumes on a card one or two will bring a delightful first impression and speak to your heart - for this is our natural reaction to a scent that we love. The next step would be to try a drop on to your skin and allow the perfume to settle and begin its journey of unraveling and revealing its many facets from the heart notes right trough to the finish on your skin. A signature scent should captivate you from beginning to end and will enhance your own personality and bring with it many compliments in your wake!"
BP: Which trends are you loving in the world of fragrance? Conversely, which fragrance trends are you less-than-enchanted with?
VC: "My father's daughter, I am not really enamoured by trends in a positive or negative way - Clive Christian carefully curated his perfume releases so that when they are released they are timeless and will not date."
BP: What will you be mentioning at your Neiman Marcus FI meet and greet in terms of what is on the horizon for Clive Christian?
VC:"I am very excited to present a preview of an exclusive new launch with Neiman Marcus this June of a limited edition 'Twist' on our classic pair of 1872 perfumes. Their invigorating complexity has been given a new dimension with the introduction of 1872 with a Twist of Mandarin for vitality and 1872 with a Twist of Vetiver for a subtle, warm glow."
Simultaneously modern and classic, Clive Christian has a luxuriously timeless appeal.
In celebration of the 15 year anniversary of Clive Christian, I was gifted a commemorative keepsake book.
I also went home with a minature version of the breathtakingly beautiful *No.1 for women, lilting with rare notes of pineapple, plum, rose, jasmine and vanilla.
Nestled in a bed of silk.
Regal and timeless.
Photogenic exterior, transcendent interior.
Last look...while at Neiman Marcus, I also picked up a couple of Tom Ford Gems (to be featured in my next post) including a backup of Golden Peach (back in stock and well worth it) and the Matte Lip Color in Pussycat.
--Shop the Post--
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this fragrance focus as much as I enjoyed learning about Clive Christian; Victoria was an utter delight and I am completely smitten with my bottle of No.1 as it smells unlike anything else in my current fragrance wardrobe.
If you are looking for a foray into the Clive Christian line, I highly recommend the Women's Traveler Set, which features the resplendent No.1 (pictured above), 1872 Pure Perfume and X Pure Perfume in lavish .3-ounce spray bottles. This is a gift (for yourself or someone you love) of unequivoally epic proportions!
Have YOU tried Clive Christian? Thoughts? Do tell!
Good things ahead, including the aforementioned Tom Ford post (with a host of new products I'm currently loving) and a skincare intensive...cannot wait to share ; )
Happy Friday! This past week, I have been pressed for time and constantly in a rush. It's times like these that I find myself gravitating towards the same gathering of beauty prodcts and settling into a routine that is quick and easy to acheive. This process generally begins with a few key "anchor" products (from Tom Ford, La Prairie, Becca and Chantecaille) that end up extending into a full face, replete with a couple of color options for moments when I crave variety. Throw in an accessory or two (from Monica Vinader) and the latest innovation in skincare (Trophy Skin!) and this sleep-deprived girl was good to go!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
Tom Ford Pussycat and Golden Peach.
// The ANCHOR Products //
Tom Ford Eye Color in Golden Peach (reviewed HERE and HERE): Words cannot adequately describe my adoration for this glimmering peach duo. Pale enough to look natural while pigmented enough to make a supreme difference, this cream and powder pairing provides hours of luminous, crease-free wear. I implore you to get this if you can!
Tom Ford Matte Lip Color in Pussycat (also discussed HERE): A recent splurge, I find the cool mauvey purple nature of this creamy matte formula to feel fresh and modern. It's darker than I normally wear, but I think that's why I find it so intriguing.
*La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream in Beige (also available at Neiman Marcus and previously discussed HERE): An impressive skincare and foundation hybrid, this formula imparts all day hydration (with anti-aging benefits) and ultra-flattering tinted coverage as well as SPF 30! Swatches of all four shades below...
The *La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream is a opulent base option. As its moniker implies, this formula literally transforms one's visage into that of really good skin. Neither overly dewy nor excessively matte, I get satisfying medium coverage in a pump and half and prefer to buff the formula to a seamless finish with dampened beauty blender.
Once set, this tinted cream (currently, I can get away with both Nude and Beige right now but will wear Beige exclusively in the summer) lasts 6-8 hours on my normal to combination skin before I feel the need to touch up with powder; over the course of wear, my skin feels balanced, comfortable and like it can breathe, all the while looking tremendously even-toned and healthy.
All in all, this new launch is a must for skincare and foundation enthusiasts alike and I adore the fact that I am getting premium skincare, flattering coverage and significant SPF in a single product!
Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream combines the benefits of skincare, color and sun protection in one, balancing your complexion with natural-looking color to counteract dullness and signs of fatigue while helping defend and build resistance to skin-aging stressors. Its self-adjusting, intuitive color pigments bask your skin perfectly in filtered light to give it a healthy glow. It comes packaged with a complexion brush to give your skin a seamless, airbrushed finish.
How to use: Apply daily after your serum application, or if skin is dry, apply over your serum and moisturizer. Pump onto your fingertips, then dot onto your forehead, cheeks and chin. Using the included Complexion Brush, work in sweeping strokes upward on the forehead and downward on the nose. Starting from the center outward, use sweeping circular strokes along your cheeks and chin. Blend downward along the jaw line. If more coverage is desired, apply with your fingertips.
Not only visually resplendent, the limited-edition Chantecaille Le Magnolia Palette is gorgeous on the skin and, like many Chantecaille products, supports a worthy cause. The powders are finely-milled and offer marvelous color payoff while blending seamlessly on the skin.
In the images at the end of this post, I used the white shade as an illuminator on the high points of my face (e.g., cheekbones, brow bones etc.) and the pink shade as a blush on the apples of my cheeks.
I cannot wait to experiment with the green taupe shade (for eyes) and the rich brown hue (to contour the face and eyes) in the coming days...will report back with my experience soon!
Chantecaille has created the Le Magnolia Eye & Cheek Palette in an effort to bring awareness to TRAFFIC, an organization that works to improve the outlook for wild plant species and the livelihoods of people around the world through supporting the widespread adoption of the FairWild Standard (which helps support efforts to ensure plants are managed, harvested and traded in a way that maintains populations in the wild and benefits rural producers).
Each limited-edition eye and cheek shade is embossed with a magnolia—a popular, wild-collected plant used in traditional Chinese medicine and in many of Chantecaille's formulas. Chantecaille will donate five percent of the proceeds from each Le Magnolia Eye & Cheek Palette sold to TRAFFIC to support its wild plant conservation work.
Shades include:
- Leaf (a unique, pale, pearly green that instantly brightens the eye area)
- Magnolia (a delicate and slightly iridescent white)
- Bark (a semi-matte, rich neutral brown to define and contour)
- Wild (a fun, playful coral that adds a natural flush to the cheeks)

*Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Blushed Copper: In a word, phenomenal; on my medium-toned skin, this rosy bronze shade provides the warmth of a bronzer, the soft flush of a subtle blush and the glow of a highlighter in a single compact. I am in love.
*Surratt Beauty Artistique Highlight Brush (reviewed HERE): There is a reason that there are only a few of these brushes left on the Sephora site...people adore them as much as I do. The ultra-soft bristles blend highlighter with unmitigated expertise.
*By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bubble Glow (reviewed HERE): Always in my makeup bag these days, this pink cream shadow instantly brightens my lower lash line and helps me look like I've had more sleep than I have.
*Surratt Beauty Expressioniste Brow Pomade (reviewed HERE): A lifetime favorite, I love how it grooms and sets my brows and dries down to a clear finish for the most natural effect.
*Gucci Eye Power Liquid Liner: Jet black with a fluid touch, this felt-tipped liner glides along the contours of the eye with immense precision and the formula is stalwart enough to masterfully last a full work day.
*IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara (reviewed HERE): I'm like a broken record about this volumizing and lengthening formula...it's great for sensitive eyes and lasts all day without smudging or flaking. I get a false lash effect in two coats.
Chanel Lip Liner in Mordore Nude (reviewed HERE): I picked this up in NYC late last year and still adore the rich nude brown of this creamy and long lasting lip liner. Try this.
*Monica Vinader Rose Gold Chain Fiji Bracelet: This glorious rose gold creation works so well with my other bracelets. I prefer jewelery that I don't have to remove and the curved lines and clever toggle fastener make this accessory perfectly at home on my wrist, alone or layered with my other favorites (as shown in the images that follow). Crafted of Sterling Silver with an 18k Rose Gold Vermiel, this is an everyday bracelet of epic proportions!
*Trophy Skin RejuvadermMD: I have always been intimidated by the idea of at-home microdermabrasion. Enter: Trophy Skin. There was something aspirational and reassuring about both the name and the subtle white and rose gold presentation of this innovative device. *Christophe Robin Multi Purpose Balm Hair and Body: I recently read that Catherine Deneuve keeps this balm in her handbag to tame flyaways and tend to dry skin and was instantly intrigued. With a light texture and intoxicating scent, I now understand why this classic beauty has made this formula a staple.
Additional details:
Christophe Robin's regenerating balm will bring dehydrated hair back to life. This nourishing blend contains Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, rare Prickly Pear seed oil, Rice Bran oil and Almond oil and it's a fantastic alternative to sticky serums and waxes. It also doubles as a nourishing moisturizer for lips, feet and cuticles. Free from parabens, silicones and colorants - Leaves no residue.
// The Bonus Swatches //
Once I began swatching the *Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush (I started with Camellia and Blushed Copper), I couldn't help but swatch them all! This silky hybrid of a highlighter and a blush is radiantly gorgeous and much more pigmented that I originally anticipated. With a weightless, gossamer texture and a softly luminous finish, this is serious glow for grown ups. Currently, there are six versatile shades:
Camellia: A neutral pale pink (a favorite).
Foxglove: Only slightly deeper than Camellia, this is a light-medium pink with cool leanings.
Snapdragon: A coral blush for a "just pinched" look.
Tiger Lily: A warm persimmon orange for a fresh take on a flushed cheek.
Dahlia: By far the most pigmented, a little of this breathtaking berry wine goes a long way.
Blushed Copper: An ethereal blush meets bronzer, I simply cannot get enough of this luscious tan.
The following images reflect all products in action in late afternoon lighting...
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this product-centric story and found the resulting looks interesting and inspiring. I would love to know what you've been reaching for as of late. Do tell!
Good things ahead, including a skincare update and a host of new product procurements...I'm also working on responding to your latest batch of comments emails. Please know that I read them all and love to answer as many as I can...thanks for your patience ; )

// Hair + Body //
*Leonor Greyl Shampooing Reviviscence: Quintessentially French, the Leonor Greyl line has a cult following of epic proportions. From the impeccable ingredients to the lock-loving effect, this particular formula leaves my thick and often unruly hair smooth, shiny, tangle free and incredibly clean. I am impressed by its ability to add lush moisture to my hair without weighing it down.
*Edward Bess Black Sea Hair Hero (reviewed HERE): This weightless, streamlined formula multi-tasks like nobody's business. I generally add a pump to just-washed hair to enhance shine, manageability and remarkable volume. If you need additional convincing, check out Edward Bess' incredible mane as proof of efficacy!
*Cellublue: Cellulite...it's a word that no one wants to type much less say aloud. Just because it's not a favorite topic of conversation doesn't mean it's not an issue. This incredibly simple yet effective device can be used to target spongy areas (e.g., thighs, derriere etc.) with a gentle massage that, with consistent use, smooths out the "orange peel" look. In a world of endless serums and creams for said issue, this is singular in its approach and definitely worth a try.
*Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil: With the unmistakable NUXE fragrance (reminiscent of a warm and sun-drenched beach in St. Tropez) and a delicate gold shimmer, this shower oil has a gel texture that makes shaving one's legs a decadent experience. My limbs are left ultra-smooth and immensely moisturized.
*Mila Moursi Revitalizing Body Oil (reviewed HERE): In the past, I have mentioned that both my mom and and I love this rich and fortifying oil for its light feel and hydrating properties. Brimming with essential oils and a infused with a fresh, plant-inspired scent, I'll be on bottle #3 before I know it.
Portable and effective, Cellublue works to mitigate the signs of cellulite in a few treatments a week.
// Cleansers //
*Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam: This recent launch from Estee Lauder harnesses the power of the award winning Advanced Night Repair Serum and channels it into a soothing foaming cleanser that sweeps away makeup and dirt while giving your face a total skincare experience.
*Le Metier de Beaute Replenishing Oil Cleanser: For those seeking a oil-based cleanse, this new, moisturizing formula from LMdB is a must. Boasting enriching ingredients including Jojoba, Coconut, Olive and Sunflower Oils, Vitamin E and Rosemary Extract, try massaging this over the entire face to free dirt, unwanted oil and impurities in seconds.
// Moisturizers + Serums //
*Kane NY Serum Savant: The skincare world has been abuzz for this oft-sold out serum; in light of the claims it makes (see below), I can see why! I prefer to use the formula, which employs the use of micro-fragment delivery of Hyaluronic Acid molecules, at night (directly following cleansing) and find that I awake with consistently smoother and brighter skin. According to Kane NY, the formula helps with:
1. VISUAL: LINES--Fine lines and wrinkles become less visible. Reduce depth and contrast.
2. STRUCTURE: DENSITY & LIFT--Lines are not enough. Ideal skin is full, plump and lush. Contours from below the surface of skin to lift and firm from every visual angle. Refill to reduce hollows, tighten contours and shore sagging.
3. RADIANCE: LIGHT--Lit from within, not merely reflected on the surface with luminizers. Deep moisture creates a full, liquid light.
*Bless Beauty Balm by Leahlani Skincare: Designed and produced in Maui, this latest creation from the highly lauded Leahlani Skincare starts as a solid and melts when it meets one's fingertips. Lilting with the essences of Orange Blossom and Blue Tansy, this balm delivers moisture and glow while instantly soothing and calming irritated and sensitive skin. Utterly divine!
*Juara Clove Flower & Turmeric Anti-Aging Serum: I have been taking Turmeric on and off for years and love its antioxidant powers. When I learned that Juara, one of my favorite natural lines, had integrated it into its newest serum, I couldn't wait to give it a try. Coupled with Clove Flower (which smells magnificent) and Goji Fruit Extract, this serum hydrates, tightens and stimulates circulation for healthier skin that simply glows.
*Tula Advanced Neck Cream: Hydrating and plush, this cream delivers significant moisture to the fragile neck and decollete area, both of which are prone to visible signs of aging. I prefer to apply morning and night for maximum smoothness and firmness.
*Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream: This gel-meets-cream contains an insane concentration of Hyaluronic Acid to plump skin upon contact. I used it frequently during my trip to Bermuda last month and deeply appreciated its ability to fight the intense dryness cultivated during long flights.
// Details for the Face //
*Erno Laszlo White Marble Sheet Mask: If you have 10 spare minutes, than you have enough time to enjoy the impressive benefits of this new sheet mask. Marinating in an envelope of serum that includes collagen (for hydration and wrinkle reduction), Soybean extract (to lighten and even skin tone), Vitamin C (which combats discoloration and brightens the visage) and Green tea extract (to soothe skin while providing protection from free radicals), the White Marble Sheet Mask revitalizes while still being entirely safe for sensitive skin; after a long and often sleep-deprived week, I truly appreciate the radiant results.
*Clé de Peau Beauté Correcting Cream Veil (also available at CdPB): Equal parts primer and SPF, a pea-sized amount of this stunning cream instantly smooths pores and fine lines, creating a more resilient, even-toned canvas (skin like porcelain!) for the make up that follows. I find that my foundation oxidizes less, lasts longer and looks fresher when preceded by this formula and I love the additional SPF 21 protection for unexpected moments in the sun.
*May Lindstrom The Jasmine Garden Mist: Excellent to refresh skin at the start of the day and revive skin in the afternoon, this fragrant pick-me-up offers an instant sensory experience with every spritz.
By Terry Baume de Rose Nutri-Coleur Mauve Moon (reviewed HERE): The formula you love in a resplendent pinky purple, this lightly-tinted balm offers just enough color to brighten up the face. Always within an arm's reach!
*Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm (reviewed HERE): I still cannot get over how instantly revitalized my eyes feel after a single application of this gel stick. The light formula hydrates, brightens and is perfectly purse friendly. So good.
In the images that follow, I am drenched in the above skin and hair care and am wearing the:
Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro #507 (reviewed HERE): This rosy shade has a thin, hydrating texture and a lovely pearly finish that lasts like a stain.
James Perse Slub V Neck in Lucite Pigment: I have no less than 8 of these T shirts...super soft and durable with one of the most perfectly cut "Vs" on the market, James Perse makes a modern classic.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this overview of some of my latest skin, hair and body care discoveries and would love to know what has caught your eye? Do share!
Good things ahead including a some new Armani Beauty and a host of new product procurements; I am also working my way through your latest batch of emails and comments ; )
Paradoxically, the past week felt both super long and like a flash. Late spring marks some major transitions, namely, the impending end of my teaching semester while also signaling the release of a host of new products and collections! Change is in the air, indeed, and I am excited to share a thorough overview of the gorgeous LE Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2016 Sepia Collection as well as a round of skincare, beauty and style finds that have been punctuating my May. Grab a coffee or tea and a snack and prepare to scroll...this story covers much ground!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
The *Sepia Highlighting Palette (also available at Giorgio Armani Beauty) is a unique take on the contouring/highlighting trend. Executed with the impeccable taste and restraint we've come to expect from the Armani Beauty line, this compact features a soft beige powder (perfect on the high points of the face) interlaced with a bronze brown shade to warm the complexion. Applied individually or swirled together for a wash of muted color, these finely-milled shades work well to add dimension and perfect the complexion.
After applying foundation, I like to sweep a mixture of the shades along the hollows of my cheeks and the perimeters of my face and then use a smaller brush to concentrate just the cream shade along my upper cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose. It adds polish to the face in seconds!
This James Perse Tee has a rounded neck and super soft finish that holds up well, even after multiple washings. I have this particular version in many shades. Shopbop also has a vast array of options!
I purchased the Teva Universal Flatform online, both for my mom (in black) and me (in gold) and couldn't be more pleased with this impulse buy. Let me stress that these sandals are EXTREMELY comfortable--cushiony, even--and the platform instantly takes this traditionally "outdoorsy" sandal up a few notches. I am generally a size 7-7 1/2 and found that the size 7 fits perfectly (with a little room to spare). I know I'll be wearing these shoes constantly this summer and cannot recommend them enough.
These TEVAS have straps that fasten with velcro for a customizable fit.
The platform sole is extremely comfortable...like walking on air.
*SK-II Facial Treatment Oil: Ever since hearing of its impending launch, I have been eagerly anticipating this stunning oil. Infused with famed Pitera, this facial oil drenches skin in immediate hydration and long lasting moisture. Just a couple of drops are all that is necessary to transform dry skin to a balanced canvas. A worthy splurge!
*La Mer The Perfecting Treatment: I have been applying this weightless gel after cleansing and toning to refine pores and brighten darker areas; consistent usage promises a more radiant visage and my initial experiences (I've been testing for a little over a week) seem to support said claims. Upon application, I notice that my skin looks velvety and more even while signs of fine lines and visible pores are dramatically reduced. This is the first La Mer product I've tried in many years and I couldn't be more pleased.
*Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle(also reviewed HERE): Akin to summertime in a resplendent glass bottle, this fragrance evokes a sense of warmth and well-being in a single spritz.
*Supergoop Shine On Lip Screen: My first experience with Supergoop, I am beyond enchanted with this SPF 50 lip formula. Worn alone, lips are extra shiny and protected; worn under or over lip pencil or lipstick and the waterproof gloss locks in moisture and color for hours. I have been using this constantly and know it will continue to be a close companion when summer arrives.
A new ritual in my life.
Finally, a Pitera-enriched facial oil from SK-II.

*Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Foundation #9(also available at Barney's NY and reviewed HERE): My love affair with this foundation has not cooled; buildable medium coverage and a lasting, invisible finish make this a permanent fixture in my handbag. Due to getting some recent springtime sun, I have bumped up to #9 which is a perfect NC 27-30 shade on me. The olive undertones of this particular shade are simply spot on for my skin.
Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish 003 Nude: As soon as I was able, I ordered this illuminating set from Sephora and love that it is a part of my current collection. I have been wearing the Nude powder, which translates as an ethereal iridescent pink, nonstop and am impressed by the dual-ended cream highlighter and clear and gleaming balm for skin that looks dewy and healthy rather than oily or greasy. The set also comes with an adept stippling brush for flawless application. See below for comparison swatches of both the Nude and Golden options!
*Laura Geller Double Take Baked Versatile Powder in Medium: A recent release from the superb Laura Geller line, this baked foundation is fantastic for settting make up, as a touch up powder mid-day and also as a complete powder foundation, especially when applied with a damp sponge. The uncented formula makes skin look like porcelain and does a great job of blurring pores without settling into fine lines. A delightful discovery!
Comparison swatches of the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish 003 in both Nude (an iridescent pink) and Golden (a yellow-based gold). Both powders are swatched heavily to showcase undertone.
All about eyes.
// EYES //
*Sisley Phyto Twist Eye in Copper and Pearl(formula previously reviewed HERE): Incredibly pigmented and waterproof, these retractable shadow sticks glide on the lid and blend like a dream. Copper is a rich bronze-meets-burgundy and the champagne beige Pearl is an excellent highlight and transition shade.
*By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bubble Glow (reviewed HERE): My not-so-secret weapon for looking awake, I wear this pearly pink gem along my lower lash line for instantaneous brightening.
*MustaeV E55 Secret Eyeshadow Blending Brush: From one of my favorite Korean beauty lines, this splendid shadow brush is soft yet firm and masterfully blends eyeshadow (both cream and powder) to a seamless finish.
*Tom Ford High Definition Eye Liner in Black (reviewed HERE): This is my daily go-to for my lower waterline. It stays in place, doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and punctuates a wash of color in seconds.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this product-packed post and would love to know what caught YOUR eye! As aforementioned, the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2016 Sepia Collectionis limited-edition, so if you are in the market for a subtle take on neutrals that works for more than a single season, act sooner rather than later.
Good things ahead, including a host of fresh product discoveries!
Also, thank you for your patience with regards to my email and comment response-time...please know that I am working to address correspondance as quickly as I can but this time of year is extra complex for me. I'm doing my best ; )
Game-changing: I often witness this particular distinction getting thrown around with wild abandon. From bras to cars and everything in between, it seems that most entities can be argued to possess "game-changer" qualities; Forbes Magazine even has an entire article devoted to the "6 steps for creating a game changer." If only it was that easy!
Although the term may be used more liberally than I prefer, I still encounter products that excite me on a regular basis...I daresay, they could be deemed veritable gamechangers. These gems provide me with skincare and beauty shortcuts that streamline my process and polish my look.

// SKINCARE Etc. //
(1) *Tata Harper Elixir Vitae: Many BP readers have requested that I review this incredible serum and I am happy to confirm that I've had it in the testing phase for the past two weeks. With an intoxicating herbal scent and an instantly absorbing texture, this all-in-one formula hydrates and plumps skin while relaxing muscle contractions (yes, please!) and adding a gorgeous glow. I have been making it my singular skincare step both morning and night and will report back at the end of the month with my findings...so far so good!
Elixir Vitae is a supercharged treatment filled with 38 high-performance ingredients that offers an immediate reduction in the appearance of wrinkles by visibly smoothing the skin's surface and filling in the look of fine lines, restoring the appearance of plumpness and delivering the visual effect of an injectable. Skin is left more youthful and radiant. Encapsulated micronutrients, which are minerals with specific ionic charges, hydrate skin while giving a plump, tight, lifted look; spilanthes extract reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines; vinifera promotes a healthy, restored look; and snowflake bulb extract helps inhibit the look of wrinkles.
Research results:
In a study:
- 86% of users noticed a reduction in the appearance of fine lines within 28 days.
How to use: For best results, massage into skin morning and night. Avoid direct contact with your eyes.
Pro tips: Use this treatment to prolong the effects of your injectable, or to replace the need for them. Blend with any of the other Super Natural serums for a comprehensive anti-aging treatment.
(2) *Dermstick for Pores: Designed to minimize the look of pores with consistent use, this handy little pen harnesses the power of Glycolic Acid, Pumpkin Seed Extract and Tea Tree Oil to increase cell turnover and shrink pore visibility. I apply it at night, along my inner cheeks (closest to my nose) and am very pleased with the results thus far.
(3) *Artis Circle 1 Brush (reviewed HERE): I have a newfound love for this genius brush, especially for its ability to artfully apply lip color. The small, round tip allows for firm and precise blending and works wonders with liquid lipstick formulas. If you haven't yet tried the Artis Line, this is an excellent place to start.
Base + face.
// BASE + FACE //
Suncreen meets foundation.
(4) *Sisley Tinted Sunscreen Cream SPF 30 in Golden: With summertime around the corner, this gorgeous sunscreen-meets-foundation couldn't have crossed the Beauty Professor desk at a better time. Lush and moisturizing with incredibly impressive coverage (medium to full with a natural finish), this water-resistant formula is a fantastic all day base for days when I know I'll be in the sun and I get hours of touch up-free lasting power. Shade Golden is an excellent match for my NC 25-27 skin...enthusiastically recommended.
Skin perfecting at its best.
(5) *Edward Bess Undo Time Blurring Perfector: The latest complexion product from the venerable Edward Bess line, a mere drop of this highly-pigmented concealer banishes darkness and blurs pores. Add a bit more and this powerful little tube transforms into a lightweight foundation. This utilitarian wonder is a must for the makeup bag, masterfully keeping spots, dark circles and unevenness at bay.
The wait is over – now is the time to reclaim the smoother, more youthful looking skin you remember. Harnessing optical blurring technology, this revolutionary age-defying skin perfector holds the power to make your complexion look years younger. A unique blend of cushiony pigments delivers next generation full coverage – dramatically reducing the appearance of discoloration and the look of lines and wrinkles. All you see is younger looking skin untouched by the hands of time.

With just enough color to gently flush the cheeks, this powder adds a unique glow that I've been craving on a daily basis. It blends like a dream and can't be overapplied, even by those (like me!) with a heavy hand.
(7) *Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder in Addiction: Waves of gleaming golden impart a breathtakingly beautiful incandescence that instantly melts into the skin. This highlighting powder feels almost like a gel (it is moisturizing and doesn't look the slightest bit powdery on the skin) for an ultra-natural luminosity that works well on the high points of the face.

(8) *La Mer The Bronzing Powder: Luxurious on every level, this latest release from La Mer (a Bloomingdales exclusive) is comprised of three different shades of warm beige and tan for a customized look. Finely-milled and ultra-soft, this bronzer imparts the most perfect muted brown tan; I concentrate application of the deeper shade (#1 and #3 in the image below) along the hollows of my cheeks and perimeters of my face while using #4 as a highlighting shade and #2 as a pearly blush.
Swirled together, the shades work in harmony to create an ultra-flattering bronzed effect...so worth it!

(9) *Surratt Beauty Expressioniste Brow Pomade (also reviewed HERE): My favorite way to tame and polish my brows, this marvelous pomade features a clear finish and significant hold for a natural look that also works wonders on flyaways along the part of my hair.
(10) *By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bubble Glow (reviewed HERE): Able to brighten the most tired eyes (with a single swipe along the lower lash line), this pearly pink shadow lasts for hours and blends with any eye look for unparalleled versatility. I hope I am never without this transcendent shade!
(11) Viseart Theory II Minx Eyeshadow Palette: First spotted at IMATS LA earlier this year, I finally got my hands on this rapturous palette. Brimming with warm nudes in both matte and satin finishes, the slim and compact packaging is entirely makeup-bag friendly. The shadows are buttery smooth, apply with a stunning velvet cloak of color and last for hours without creasing or fallout. Minx possesses all of the shades that I adore and I consider it a dream palette.

(12) *Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme in Citronade Rose (reviewed HERE): I cannot stress enough how marvelous this metallic baby pink lip color is. Weightless and pigmented with the most divine and transformative finish, it is permanently in my purse. At publish date, it appears to be sold out everywhere except for Cult Beauty (!!); if you love pink as I do, you would be wise to snap it up while it's still in stock.
(13) NARS Undercover Lip Cover in Get Dirty: This LE liquid formula is an insanely pigmented wash of color with a luscious satin (read: not matte) finish. It is moisturizing, long lasting and refreshingly unique. Get Dirty is a warm peachy rose nude, perfect for everyday wear. I picked this shade up for my mom and close friend and we all simply adore it!
(14) Lancome Juicy Shaker in Lemon Meringue: Equal parts clever and adorable, this little shaker features a bi-phase lip oil with a tender pink glaze. The sweet candy smell soothes the senses and the intense and hydrating properties make this new release a lovely fusion of style and substance.
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this round up of game-changing discoveries...they truly have forged a positive impression on my product-laden routine. What have you been loving as of late?

Palette play.
The *Glow Palette consists of five pans of cream highlighter, two of which are special limited edition shades for the Mermaid Collection:
Camellia: Shimmering pearl white
Tiare: Shimmering gold
Champagne: Shimmering rose gold
Seashell: Shimmering pearl pink (limited edition)
Crystal: Iridescent lavender pink (limited edition + my personal favorite)
The formula is smooth and weightless for the most ultra-believable glow possible; I find that the creamy texture holds up well for hours, even in warm weather and layering the shades yields extra dimension and endless possibilities.

The *Iridescent Eyeshadow Palette features four satin shades with immense color-payoff and an entrancing finish that plays with the light:
Coconut: Iridescent ice white
Pink Pearl: Iridescent soft pink
Splash: Iridescent aquamarine
Dreamer: Iridescent duochrome peacock
Light-diffusing and long-wearing, these shadows can be layered, blended and built up for nearly full opacity. Even though they resonate with the breezy energy of summer, I envision being able to wear these hues year-round as they instantly brighten the oribital area (especially Coconut and Pink Pearl) and work well with others.

Luminzing Body Lotion.
The *Luminizing Body Lotion envelops the senses in a floral-tropical dream. Lightly tinted to add a cloak of warmth and luminosity to skin, this hydrating lotion absorbs quickly and lasts all day. The glow it distills is natural, flattering and remarkably un-shimmery, ranking it highly amongst it contemporaries.

From top to bottom: New Long-Wear Lip Cremes in Watermelon, Daiquiri, Unicorn and Fairy.
The Mermaid Collection also includes four new *Long-Wear Lip Cremes (my review of the first 16--also available at Nordstrom and Cult Beauty) can be found HERE) in vibrant summertime shades:
Fairy: Metallic cool pink
Unicorn: Matte cool lilac
Daiquiri: Metallic warm coral
Watermelon: Matte true warm red
As mentioned in my original review, the formula is smooth, pigmented and incredibly long lasting without being drying. I adore the fact that there are metallic finishes in the mix (rare amongst long wear lip color options) and am consistently impressed with my experience each and everytime I wear this formula.

The following images reflect the Jouer Mermaid Collection in action (a mixture of Champagne and Crystal as highlighter and all four shades of the Iridescent Eyeshadow Palette on the eyes), combined with these essentials:
*Le Metier de Beaute Ultimate Hydrator: Perhaps the best moisturizer I have tried to date, this luxurious formula bathes skin in hydration for the plump and supple skin.
Serge Lutens Spectral Foundation in O40 (also available at Saks and swatched + reviewed HERE): Despite having an insane amount of foundations in my arsenal, I have been reaching for this opulent gem frequently as of late. The medium coverage and natural matte finish is so skin perfecting and the formula performs perfectly in this spring-to-summer weather.
La Mer Bronzing Powder (reviewed HERE): A Bloomingdale's exclusive, I am loving the soft and subtle bronzing effect of this neutral, nearly matte formula.
*Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara(also available at Nordstrom): This latest launch from the Charlotte Tilbury creates long, lush and full lashes in two coats. I am wildly impressed with the false lash effect; full review forthcoming.
Free People Long Beach Tank in Sea Green: I have this super soft tank top in five shades; high neck, cut in shoulders and a long, flowy bottom half ensure this style's consistency in my wardrobe. I bought mine last season and am glad to see that it's back this year in even more colors!

// SKINCARE + OTHER ESSENTIALS //
*By Terry Cellularose Micellar Water (also available at Net-A-Porter): This nourshing water from one of my favorite lines masterfully cleanses and tones, leaving my skin super clean and ready to face the day.
*TATCHA Balanced Pore Perfecting Water Gel: Akin to a refreshing dew, this liqui-gel is nontraditional moisturizer, excellently suited for those who abhor heavy creams. It absorbs instantly and tightens and refines pores while subtly illuminating skin with real 23k gold.
*Antica Farmacista Fig Leaf Candle: Lighting a candle after a long day of lecturing is one of my indulgences but the scent has to be just right...too strong and I'm not relaxed but too light and it doesn't make a difference. Enter this gem by Antica Farmacista: the sweetness of the lush fig is offset by an earthy element that's both calming and uplifting for the best of both worlds.
*Molton Brown Dewy Lily of the Valley & Star Anise EDT: Up front, I must disclose that I am partial to all things anise-related as my middle name is Anise. That being said, this green floral is divinely fresh with intriguing notes of mandarin, white tea and ylang-ylang and, of course, lily of the valley and star anise...clean and pure, it's a beautiful daily option.
*By Terry Cellularose Dual Exfoliation Scrub (also available at Net-A-Porter): Extremely gentle yet effective, this scrub works best when applied to dry skin. After buffing the formula into my visage in a circular motion, I am left with extremely smooth and radiant skin each and every time I use it!
One of the most lightweight moisturizers on the market.
Lighting this candle puts me in full relaxation mode after a long day...fresh fig and warm earthy tones instantly emanate.

Chantecaille Mermaid Eye Color in Lagoon and Triton.
Chantecaille Mermaid Eye Color in Lagoon and Triton: I have had my eye on these for awhile and when I finally had the chance to swatch it, I was surprised that I was drawn to these two shades (cooler! greener!) over the warmer neutrals (my go-to hues) available. Densely packed into sleek and lightweight pots, the fragrance-free cream formula is pigmented (nearly full opacity in a single layer) and gossamer with a sophisticated satin finish that is luminous without being glittery.
Designed to be incredibly long-wearing, I get 6-7 hours of flawless, crease-free wear, even on my allergy-ridden (got to love pollen and grasses!) eyes. The creamy texture dries down to a color-fast powder that looks like second skin!
Lagoon is a breathtaking deep peacock green with reddish-brown duo chrome and Triton is a neutral pale taupe with a glowing foil effect. Together (I like to apply Triton all over my lid and work Lagoon into the crease for depth and color), these shades work to create a subtle smoky eye with a sensuous sheen.

Legendary Lashes for a false fringe effect.
Freshly released and housed in a resplendent golden tube, the *Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascaramimics the look false lashes in two coats. The jet-black formula builds nicely on itself, dramatically extending the length and increasing the volume of lashes from root to tip. As long as I give it a few extra seconds to dry down (the formula is quite emollient upon application), I am able to get hours of flake-free and smudge-free wear and my fringe looks false in all the right ways.
Sun Fabric #600.
Giorgio Armani Sun Fabric #600: Ever since catching a glimpse of this summertime launch online last month, I have diligently been hunting it down. Consistently sold out since its release, I was happy to stumble on some untapped stock that had just arrived in-store and swiftly snapped up two, one for me, one for my mom. It is the neutrality of this bronzer that makes it so alluring; the deep russet brown hue reminds me of the highly lauded yet discontinued Giorgio Armani Bronzer #1 (reviewed HERE), which was the perfect contour shade before the concept of contour aggressively infiltrated the Internet. This time around, however, the finely milled powder (embossed with mesmerizing striations that call to mind windblown sand in a vast desert) comes in a glossy, streamlined compact with a chamber for a brush applicator.
Swept along the hollows of the cheeks and around the perimeters of the face, this bronzer has a transformative power to create depth and dimension without getting too warm; it's buildable while still appearing completely natural and the refreshingly singular shade (which has only the slightest touch of luminosity) will flatter a spectrum of skintones. If you find it in stock (currently still available online at Nordstrom--at least for the present time), I implore you to pick it up...I'm confident you wont' regret it.

Passion and Satin.
*Edward Bess Classic Beauty Lustrous Lip Color: Infinitely glossy and sublimely natural, these new lip colors from the venerable Edward Bess feature a smooth and glossy formula that is hydrating and luxurious. The shades are "my lips but better" hues that look classically beautiful and the minimalist packaging is iconic and streamlined. Passion is a warm medium peachy rose and Satin (my favorite...worn in the images at the end of this post) is a unique nude mauve that adds depth without getting too dark. Absolutely marvelous!
Become a Classic Beauty with a single swipe of this oh-so-creamy lip color specially designed to enhance your pout with timeless elegance. The magic melting formula applies effortlessly like your favorite lipstick and immediately turns into a high-gloss finish that delivers irresistible shine without ever feeling sticky. A rich, buttery texture nourishes and provides lasting hydration for all-day comfort and all-day gorgeous.

Serge Lutens Spectral Foundation in O40 (also also available at Saks and thoroughly reviewed HERE): I have been using this foundation a great deal lately as O40 is an excellent match for my mid-season transitional skin and the lasting power is impressive. I deeply appreciate how creamy and even toned this formula makes my skin. Natural looking and semi-matte for low-maintenance moments, this minimalist dream is an utterly worthy splurge for foundationphiles.

// ACCESSORIES //
Givenchy Oversized Sunglasses in Gold/Copper: I tried these on last month and have thought about them ever since. Consequently, I picked them up a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier. They are unique yet classic with a lightweight frame that feels like nothing on the face. They are especially great for those of us who struggle with glasses that slide down the nose and the delicate details make them well worth the investment!

It's a crazy week but I am also in the midst of responding to your latest batch of comments and emails...thanks, as always, for your patience.
Happy weekend to you! What are your plans? After an insanely busy week, I am looking forward to sticking super close to home, catching up on a host of products and taking advantage of the weekend sales with a bit of online shopping. Although it's oft-associated with BBQ's and days off, let's also take a moment to consider the true reason for Memorial Day...I, for one, am infinitely grateful for the brave men and women who have lost their lives in the course of duty to protect America. Thanks will never be enough.
Today's story features a brief shopping guide with personal style recommendations, a quick overview of the foundations in my rotation as of late and a link to my latest story for the Neiman Marcus blog, all about my favorite products for the orbital area!
Let's start with the SALES:
Shopbop currently has a vast sea of markdowns that can be worn now and through the summer months. I like the:
Acne Boots: Clean and classic moto boots that work well with shorts, jeans and skirts alike.
Splendid Camdyn Sandals: I love the unique twist on a traditional flat sandal and the fact that this style comes in both black and nude is an asset.
Joie Silk Dress: Effortless and immensely pretty, dresses that look chic and can handle the consumption of a big meal are the best.
Linda Farrow Luxe Sunglasses in Tea Rose and Brown: I have been on a bit of a sunglass kick and these pastel gems are next on my list...the Linda Farrow line has been flying off the shelf this season.
Currently, Equipment is offering an extra 20% off sale items. Some of my choices include:
Lanie Silk Dress: I have no less than 3 dresses in this style and wear them constantly. Worth the investment.
Boven Silk Parka: Finding the right type of jacket for spring and summer can be a challenge...not too heavy, not too light, this silk number will look stunning over jackets or paired with denim shorts and booties.
Leema Silk Shirt: I have a weakness for all things minty green and this floralish blouse certainly fits the bill.
Nordstrom is in the midst of its Half-Yearly Sale, with 40% off items in most departments.
Burberry Poncho: Another solution for the transitional weather ahead--hot in the day and cool at night--this insane splurge (that I know I would have and use FOREVER) is marginally justified by its sale price.
Free People Mesh Hoodie: An interesting take on a hoodie, I'm intrigued by the lightweight mesh texture and breezy sensibility of this pullover.
Frame Le Classic Silk Shirt: A delicate white silk number with swiss dots for summertime ease, this blouse has year round appeal.
If authentic pre-owned luxury goods in excellent condition are your calling, the check out the sale at The Real Real. I have had consistently good experiences with my orders on the site. Currently, many products are 20% off, including:
Hermes Tote: Iconic Hermes at an unbelievable price, this large tote will match everything.
Tom Ford Sunglasses: I love the unique stylings of these sunglasses...I haven't seen anything like them in my recent shopping excursions.
Salvatore Ferragamo Satchel: Everything about this bag is sublime...the color, the shape and the fact that it has handles and a long strap. This is a handbag that would work for every occasion.
14k Gold Collar Necklaces: I have no shortage of golden collars; easy to wear, comfortable to layer and complimentary to nearly every look, I now have my eye on a few more ; )
Space.NK is having a major sale on some By Terry Favorites including:
By Terry Cover Expert Intense Beige(reviewed HERE): This foundation has been a staple for me for many years; it is deeply marked down because it was recently formulated with a marginial amount of SPF but if you love the full coverage formula as much as I do, I would recommend picking up the original while you can.
By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge(reviewed HERE): Gloriously moisturizing with a colorful glaze, this lip color is excellent for the warmer months. So many shades are still available...get a few for you and a couple more for gifts!
Finally, in a state of permanent sale, The Outnet has been a favorite luxury style go-to as of late. I recently placed a decent-sized order for a host of summer essentials including:
Swimwear: I picked up an iconic two piece--deeply discounted--by Missoniand a gorgeous, minimalist toasted tan bandeau set by Norma Kamali.
Equipment France: So much of my favorite brand--a timeless classic--on sale...it's almost difficult to narrow down the choices.
Frame Denim: The discounts on the fabulous jeans from this line are significant; hope you find something that catches your eye.
Gucci boyfriend Jeans: Ultra soft, slightly structured and faded to the perfect hue of cloud blue, these jeans are a steal and run true to size...so good.

Foundation rotation!
Next, I wanted to share an overview of the FOUNDATIONS I've been reaching for lately. I have been wildy experimental as my skin seems to change with the weather and here are 8 which have been on heavy rotation:
Serge Lutens Spectral Foundation in O40 (swatched and reviewed HERE): Creamy medium coverage with a natural matte finish, O40 is a spot-on match for my current skin tone. This formula is so special.
Bobbi Brown Skin Moisture Compact Foundation in Natural: Noting that the formula was new, I picked it up on a whim and appreciate how moisturizing the formula is. It provides buildable coverage (from light all the way to full) and I get 6-7 hours of touch up free wear.
Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge (swatched and reviewed HERE): A perennial must in my routine, I wear this illuminating base under foundation and also as a lightly-tinted stand alone on low-maintenance days. I hope to never be without it.
*PIXI H20 Skin Tint in Nude: I recently began testing this formula and was pleasantly surprised with the medium coverage and fragrance-free weightless texture. An excellent option!
*Surratt Beauty Surreal Real Skin Perfecting Wand in #9 (swatched and reviewed HERE): Easily currently in my top three foundation formulas, this brilliant wand pefects skin with minimal product and the lasting power is outrageously good.
*Chantecaille Future Skin in Cream (swatched and reviewed HERE): A water-based gel formula, I reach for this foundation whenever my skin needs a break. It consistently improves my skin and looks nearly invisible once applied.
*Erno Laszlo Shake-It Tinted Treatment in Shade #2 Neutral (also available on Amazon): Completely interesting and unlike any base formula I have tried to date, this bi-phase formula is a clarifying and mattifying base that minimizes pores and fine lines while removing all unwanted oil from the canvas. Great for minimal makeup days or moments when heat and humidity are your foes.
