Focused on updating one's makeup bag for fall, the full article can be read HERE. If you end up swinging by, please leave a comment so I know that you visited!
The piece is brimming with products previously covered on BP; consequentially, here is a list with links to my past reviews...

Good things ahead including some exciting holiday releases from By Terry and Marc Jacobs Beauty, a skincare update and much more...
Today, I am over the moon to share to two limited edition products, currently available at Beautylish. One encompasses unmitigated opulence for the lips while the other is pure luxury in the form of brushes. Together, they comprise the ultimate in beauty splurges, both for one's self or as an unforgettable gift for a beauty loving friend or family member.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
Ever since witnessing a fleeting preview of the limited-edition *By Terry Gold Jewel Lip Kissearlier this fall, I earnestly hoped that we'd be reunited. Thankfully, this radiant gem is now mine! The golden case is emblazoned with an iconic purple pattern that is quintessentially representative of the classic By Terry aesthetic, for purple is one of Terry de Gunzburg's favorite colors. The Holiday 2015 palette consists of ten shades of lip color; the top row features five matte reds of varying undertones and the bottom row possesses five coordinating lip glosses for endless combinations.
In terms of formula, the mattes are ultra pigmented and have a velvety texture that glides over lips without too much "slip." They feel hydrating and comfortable for hours and perform magnificently without feathering or settling into fine lines.
The glosses offer a diverse range of shades and opacity; from the palest beige to the richest red, they seamlessly pair with the matte options, inviting the wearer to exercise immense creativity when customizing their lip mix. They are not sticky, although they stay in place and heighten the longevity of the lip color overall.
Finally, the lip brush should not go without mention; dual ended and easy to handle, the bristles are firm yet flexible and allow for a precise application while on the go.
In sum, this palette is simply exquisite...the reds are classic and wearable and the glosses add a fresh dimension for seemingly infinite options. This is a must have in every By Terry devotee's and lip color lover's collection!
The Gold Jewel Lip Kiss from BY TERRY is a premium, 10-color palette that features 5 intense matte-velvety lipstick quads and 5 dazzling shine lip lacquers to be applied alone or layered.
The firm and precise double brush traces the contours and fills in the lips with glamourous textures that bring out their beauty.

Since its debut last month, the limited-edition Wayne Goss Anniversary Set -- exclusive to Beautylish -- has already sold out once (see my Goss Brow Kit review HERE). Stock was recently replenished but, in light of initial customer demand, I imagine that this utilitarian collection will not be available for much longer!
Featuring eight brushes for every need imaginable, the super soft bristles and sleek, Japanese craftsmanship guarantee that you will be reaching for these stylish tools time and again.
To commemorate the second anniversary of its launch on Beautylish, Wayne Goss is reissuing the best-selling Brush set that started it all. Everything you love about The Collection, reimagined in a new limited edition release.
The Anniversary Set includes an updated release of the popular Brush 01 (limited edition) and introduces the new Brush 05 which will become a permanent addition to The Collection.
Each Brush has been meticulously handcrafted by traditional artisans in Kumano, Japan with jewel tone name and number lasering on the handles unique to the Anniversary Set.
Cruelty-free natural bristles are selected for luxurious softness and then bundled uncut into a durable brass ferrule.
There are eight brushes in the Anniversary Set:
Brush 1: A flat buffing and blending brush, perfect for applying foundation
Brush 2: An oval-shaped face brush that works well to blend blush and bronzer
Brush 3: A larger eye shadow brush with longer bristles for placing product across the entire eyelid. This also could be used to apply illuminator/highlighter along the cheekbones and bridge of the nose.
Brush 4: An eye shadow brush (only slightly smaller than Brush 3) for additional blending, especially at the crease.
Brush 5: A tiny, pointed brush with stiff yet soft bristles, excellent for applying cream eyeliner at the upper and lower lash lines.
Brush 6: A flat eye shadow brush with a classic shape for all over application.
Brush 7: A short-bristled half domed brush to work in the crease and lash lines.
Brush 8: A tiny, angled brush for precise application of brow powders and creams.

Bottom Line: As aforementioned, the By Terry Gold Jewel Lip Kissand Wayne Goss Anniversary Setare brilliant options for the beauty-minded. Due to their versatility and exceptional performance, coupled with the impending holidays, I suspect that the limited quantities of both will be depleted in the coming weeks. In turn, act swiftly should either catch your eye!
Good things ahead including a skincare update, a host of new product procurements and Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale features; I am also in the midst of responding to your comments and emails...thanks for your patience!
I don't know about you, but as temperatures continue to drop, I have become quite obsessed with skin that glows in a subtle (read: not summery) fashion to offset the grey skies and brisk environment. Consequently, I am excited to show you five products -- starting with the breathtakingly beautiful Charlotte Tilbury Nocturnal Cat Eyes sets -- that impart a soft radiance that makes skin look its best.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
The *Charlotte Tilbury Nocturnal Cat Eyes to Hypnotise are curated duos of a gleaming powder eyeshadow and corresponding eyeliner for a double impact of eye beauty. The four different shade options (three in this post) share a tonal continuity that allows for restrained daytime luminosity that can be easily amped up for the evening hours.
Packaging: The powder shadow comes in a signature brown compact, diminutive enough to be tossed into a handbag, that contains a mirror and closes securely. The eyeliner is smaller in size than the traditional eyeliner in the line, but a little goes a long way (and it lasts forever on the eye!) so I imagine that it will take me a great deal of time to finish one.
Formula: The eyeshadow is remarkably silky and finely milled...it glides onto lids with a velvety texture that has a gossamer finish. In terms of pigmentation, the shadows are impressive. One swipe yields nearly full opacity and a bit more finishes the task. I would deem the shadows satin in nature; and though there is a bit of obvious glitter in the pan, it does not look glittery whatsoever on the lid...just sophisticated luminosity. The eye liners are everything one would expect from the Charlotte Tilbury line...pigmented, smooth and exceptionally long wearing. Divine!
Application: I prefer to sweep the powder along my upper lid and lower lashline and then add a bit of additional pop by applying the corresponding liner along my lower lashline, as close to the lashes as possible. This look works well, day and night...I am wearing warm and bronzy The Huntress combination in the images at the end of the post.
Wear Time: Both the eyeshadow and liner perform masterfully over the course of a long day. In my experience, the shadows do not crease (even without primer) and the liner simply does. not. budge.
Scroll on for shade and swatch closeups...
Above: The Huntress features a bronze taupe shadow and warm bronze eyeliner.
Above: Silver Leopard features a deep grey eyeshadow with cool silver undertones and a charcoal grey eyeliner.

Next up is a fresh innovation in foundation; designed to be a hybrid base/contour/highlighter, the *PUR Minerals Cameo Contour Stick(also available at PUR Minerals) features a dual ended stick with two solid creams. Applied separately and strategically, the creams artfully sculpt and highlight the face, adding instant depth and dimension. Applied liberally, and mixed/blended well, the creams can act as a foundation, providing medium to nearly full coverage that is velvety smooth and natural looking.
Meet the final word in flawless contouring. PÜR's dual-ended contour stick adds closeup-worthy depth and dimension to your natural features with a creamy, oil-free formula that sets to a picture perfect powder finish. Using light-reflective microspheres, this 2-in-1 complexion innovation emphasizes your face's natural highlights and lowlights while simultaneously blurring the look of imperfections, such as dark spots and fine lines. As you apply and blend one or both shades with the pro blending sponge, your skin also drinks in the skin-perfecting benefits of PÜR's own Ceretin Complex - a proprietary blend of hydrating ceramides and age-defying vitamin A!
Key Ingredients:
Light-Reflective Microspheres: Spotlight the skin's natural highlights while blurring the look of imperfections like dark spots and fine lines
Ceretin Complex: Nourish a more youthful radiance with a proprietary blend of mega-moisturizing ceramides and gently renewing vitamin A
Sodium hyaluronate: Draws moisture to the skin's surface for a naturally plumper, smoother and softer look and feel
I prefer to get the most out of this progressive product by applying it in a traditional contour/highlighter configuration (dark end on cheekbones, sides of nose and perimeter of face and light end on upper cheekbones and orbital area) and blending well; then, I go over areas of my face in need of more coverage (generally in the center of my face) with a dab of both shades and blend well until everything is even. Since the wearer can adjust the amount of each side applied, Medium is an apropos shade for N/NC/NW 23-27 skin.
Because both shades are creamy without an ounce of shimmer, I think this duo fills a gap for many makeup lovers who abhor base products with light reflecting particles. The formula is neither too dry or too dewy, and it lasts 6-8 hours without any major need for touchups. Additionally, the Pur Minerals line, as a rule, is sensitive skin-friendly and this base feels exceptionally comfortable on the skin. In turn, it makes for an excellent option for those seeking portable coverage and contouring on the go!
Above: A swatch of Le Metier de Beaute Peau Leuer PV Pen #1 in direct sunlight.
The Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Leuer Pen has been discussed on Beauty Professor plenty of times in the past (see HERE and HERE). Generally, I prefer shade 2 (always in my makeup bag) but I've recently been experimenting with shade 1, which has a lighter, pinkier tone that significantly enlivens the face. I focus the glowing formula in my orbital area and find the tender shade counteracts darkness and blurs fine lines for a bright-eyed effect...marvelous for the cooler and sleep-deprived months ahead ; )
Above: NYX High Definition Blush in direct sunlight.
I stumbled upon the *NYX High Definition Blush in my stash recently and couldn't believe that I had been neglecting it as the luminous, bronzy goodness of Glow (I believe it is also called Beach Babe) is perfect for this time of year. Not quite a bronzer, not quite a blush, it has a silky, pratically creamy texture that becomes one with the skin for an ultra-natural look. Oh, and the price, my friends, cannot be beat...got to love a high-low face combination from time to time!
Above: A single swatch of NYX Glow/Beach Babe in direct sunlight.
I have already sung the praises of the brand new Surratt Beauty Prismatique LipsHERE and HERE and, because this formula is so lauded in my life, went ahead and ordered two more shades, shown above and below. Pailettes is a soft and shimmering pink and Chi Chi (love the moniker) is a light coral-meets-rose-meets-beige that is similar to Lili Doree (shown HERE) but with a bit more intial opacity. I am wearing Lili Doree alone on the lips in the images below.
The hydrating, non-sticky, uber-reflective formula simply makes lips gleam and, fantastically, it looks just as good alone (for a natural glow) as it does over lip pencil, matte lip color and lipstick. I am confident that there will always a Prismatique Lips or two in my purse from now on...they are just that brilliant!

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this beauty story...truly, the Charlotte Tilbury Nocturnal Cat Eyes to Hypnotise sets are all sorts of stunning for a spectrum of eye colors (thereby, a perfect gift option) and I find myself reaching for my burgeoning collection of Surratt Prismatique Lips constantly!
I am currently in the midst of travel: Beauty Professor readers in NYC...please leave your suggestions for what I shouldn't miss while in the city!!!
I look forward to sharing beauty musings while on the road...thanks for your patience, in the meanwhile, as I field comments and email.
Good things ahead, including a skincare update, a fresh FOTD and my Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping guides...xx and have a beautiful Saturday,
Hello, lovelies! I hope your Thanksgiving week is going well. I am still in NYC -- a million good things to share in a future recap -- and happy to share a FOTD that features a melange of new discoveries (namely, lip color and base) and current staples. Cumulatively, the products work together to create a simple look that is both classic and fresh!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
Products Used:
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ SPF 50 Cream in Medium: I have been experimenting with this hybrid base (major skincare benefits and impressive physical SPF) for the past few weeks and am quite smitten with its low maintenance application (I use my fingers), significant coverage and beautiful, creamy, natural skin finish. It is friendly to sensitive skin and lasts for hours (I took the pictures that follow at the end of a 7 hour teaching day) without need for touch up. There are only five shades, so finding a match could prove a challenge, especially for super fair and rich ebony tones but Medium is a befitting match for my NC 25-27 skin. This is an excellent option for days when you don't have time for traditional foundation but still desire an even complexion. Love it!
*Clé de Peau Beauté Bronzing Powder (also available at CdPB and reviewed HERE): Applied to hollows of cheek bones and perimeter of the face to sculpt and warm up the the canvas...since the temperatures have dropped, I've been grabbing for this light bronze option constantly.
*Le Metier de Beaute Full Stream Kaleidoscope (reviewed HERE): I placed the bronze and highlighter shades on the eyes and used the pink blush on the apples of my cheeks for a pigmented yet luminous effect. I adore this particular kaleidoscope and highly recommend it...every time I use it, someone seems to ask what I'm wearing on my eyes, cheeks etc.
Dior Diorific Mat Lipstick in Radieuse: This limited-edition shade was a no regrets impulse buy. Entranced by the allure of the iconic, golden packaging and delicate rose-meets-nude-meets peach of the bullet, this matte lipstick feels like velvet on my perennially dry pout. I am stunned by how moisturizing the formula is and the color is equal parts creamy, pigmented and soft for a unique spin on the prominent deep rose lips ubiquitous to the season. I am truly contemplating purchasing a back up before this shade sells out!
Kevyn Aucoin The Gossamer Loose Diaphanous Powder in Warm (reviewed HERE): Just a light dusting is all that is necessary to set makeup for the day...it is virtually imperceptible to the naked eye yet somehow blurs pores, softens fine lines and perfects everything upon application.
*Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist (reviewed HERE): One quick spritz makes a world of difference; it sets makeup while imparting a radiant glow.
I am currently in the midst of travel: Beauty Professor readers in NYC...please leave your suggestions for what I shouldn't miss while in the city!!!
Good things ahead, including a new brush feature, a skincare update and my Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping guides...xx and have a beautiful Thanksgiving week,

Above: Both Marc Jacobs Beauty Black Friday sets in harmony.
Happy Thanksgiving, lovelies! What are your plans? I am still in the midst of travel and cannot wait to soon recapitulate what has been an incredible week in New York City.
In the meanwhile, I am thrilled to share that Marc Jacobs Beauty has two exclusive sets for Black, or should I say #Blacquer Friday: The Contour and Glow Brush Set + The Paint It Blacquer - Blacquer Collection. The rich and luminous obsidian tone of the products in the collection is undeniably gorgeous and their utilitarian and classic nature will have you reaching for them time and again.
Kindly scroll on for all of the details and a copious amount of images as well as the Bottom Line...
The Shape Contour Brush: the special oval shape of this contouring brush places contouring and highlighting powders exactly where you want them, for bold payoff and a sleek look. I love using this with the cream-based Tom Ford Shade + Illuminate (reviewed HERE) to add depth and dimension to the face.
The Blush Angled Blush Brush: this angled blush brush is perfectly shaped to create a diffused glow across your cheeks; try using this brush to apply Marc Jacobs Shameless Bold Blush in Obsessed (reviewed HERE) to the apples of the cheeks for a lit from within look.
The Bronze Bronzer Brush: this luxurious bronzing brush is oversized to deliver the instant gratification of a healthy bronzed look. I use this fluffy wonder to sweep bronzer on my lower cheekbones and along the perimeter of my face for a warmth that looks entirely natural.

O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara: Create eye-opening, smudge-proof definition with O!Mega Lash to lengthen, define and volumize lashes. I am impressed by how full and lush my lashes look with just two coats.
Magic Marc’er Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner: Line eyes with the ultimate precision of Magic Marc’er. This waterproof liquid eyeliner lays down even, precise lines with ink so unique that it delivers shine that’s literally patented. I prefer to sweep the tip across my upper lid, as close to the lashline as possible (as pictured at end of post). This instantly makes lashes look darker and fuller!
Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer: Finish your look with a coat of Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer nail polish, available for the first time in ultra-glossy Blacquer, for nails that shine like 30 coats of lacquer. I cannot get over how pigmented and reflective this shade is...it's edgy and positively luxe.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving...I am truly thankful for your friendship, readership and support...XO,
Happy Thanksgiving; I hope yours was wonderful! This week, we've been enjoying the wonders of NYC (full recap post soon) and even though I am but a stone's throw away from some of the best shopping in the world, I will also be indulging in some online orders to streamline the process.
For the past few days, the web has been abuzz with a plethora of promotions dedicated to the ineffable Black Friday shopping extravaganza; some have even already begun! Although some of us embrace the thrill of traditional shopping on the 27th--dense crowds and long lines can be marginally invigorating when coupled with the thrill of the hunt--there is a certain sense of peace in choosing one’s spoils from the comfort of a computer, ideally with a frothy latte at arm’s reach.
To assist in savvy navigation of the sales, I have compiled a list of my favorite retailers, replete with discount codedetails (where applicable) and my curated choices:
DEPARTMENT STORES (Beauty + Fashion)

Rag and Bone Margot Bootie...classic craftsmanship and a dual toned suede texture makes these a year-round investment.

Nespresso Lattissima Touch Espresso Maker...if you are a coffee lover, this is incredible, if you are one who cannot get enough frothy milk on your coffee, this is a MUST. We bought ours from Bloomies last year and use it daily...the fact that is it $100 off simply cannot be ignored. Ours makes us ridiculously happy.

Happy Cyber Monday! I am finally home from my travels to NYC and while I have a full recapitulation in the works, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite outfits from the trip as well an exact breakdown of the skincare and beauty that I used while away for eight days. Couple that with some curated Cyber Monday shopping recommendations and you have a single post, brimming with musings!
Kindly scroll on for more details, a complete travel skincare and beauty breakdown and my Cyber Monday Shopping Guide as well as the Bottom Line...
Above: These boyfriend jeans were a staple in my NYC clothing routine and the Tan booties that are high enough to reach the cuff of one's jeans for a seamless transition.
Traversing a city where walking miles is the norm is a unique challenge...one wants to embrace their own style while remaining comfortable for 10-12 hours on their feet. I stuck a workable balance with these Astor Boyfriend Jeans by Ralph Lauren (also available on sale at Macy's and Dillards) which I wore 3 times on the trip...they have the perfect cut. They do, however, run a touch small; I am generally a size 24 but sized up to a 26 and couldn't be happier. I also love the Carmen Top from American Apparel(currently 50% off with code: TKITOFF). The neckline grazes shoulders but stays in place for a refreshing sihouette. I also picked one up in black! Finally, my Topshop belted coat and tan booties(another similar pair HERE) were constant go-to's as their neutral hues seamlessly matched most of my black and blue attire!
Above: I tied this shirt dress to make it a blouse for an afternoon at the Central Park zoo.
I also found myself getting great use from this striped shirt dress from Glamorous (tied at the waist in this case), Helmut Lang Skinny Jeans(so versatile, I wear them weekly), a black leather jacket(currently on sale!) and the Everybody Jenna Boot, which is my favorite boot purchase of fall; I adore the slightly higher shaft and the combination of muted brown and rich black is so unique...also, the ultra-soft leather and low stacked heel make them immensely comfortable.

Above: Even skin, bronzy eyes and matte pink lips for most of the trip.
In terms of skincare and beauty, I brought an insane amount of product (of course) but found myself using only a portion of my choices; for the sake of pragmatism, I photographed everything in the heavy rotation category before packing it up and am excited to share exactly what those selections were!
Above: The cooler, drier weather meant I could embrace a foundation with a touch of glow.
*Pop Dental Portable Sonic Toothbrush: Slender and battery operated (so no need to pack a charger), the powerful brush head effectively cleanses my teeth. My new travel favorite!
Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge #2 (reviewed HERE): Primer, moisturizer, anti-aging skincare and tinted illuminator, this has been my first base non-negotiable for three years.
*Lina Hanson Global Body Serum: This line is new to me but I couldn't have been more pleased with the results of this light body oil with an intoxicating, all-natural fragrance; applied post shower, my skin was hydrated, smooth and glowing...divine.
Above: Haircare etc.
HAIRCARE ETC:
L'Oreal OleoTherapy Shampoo + Conditioner: Sulfate and Paraben-free, this haircare duo replenishes moisture without weighing hair down...I used the it daily for 9 days!
*Rusk Elixir Mist: An ultra-light shine mist that also detangles and protects hair from heat styling (which was inevitable in the cold weather). Oh, and it smells absolutely divine.
Gilette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor: I borrowed this from my husband last month and loved it so much, he bought me my own ; ) I'm not sure why razors targeted towards males are better than those for females...all I can say for sure is that they are.
Beauty Blender: Works so well with the new By Terry Foundation (more on that below).
*Doctor's Remedy Nail Polish in Purity Pink: A "good for you" nail lacquer in a barely there color that held up beautifully for 9 days...my nails were subtle, classy and polished.
Dior Fix It 2-in-1 Prime and Conceal #2: I am intrigued by this lip primer and concealer that is essentially a touch up on the go...good coverage and lasting power...full review soon.
Freepeople Swing Dress...the earthy tones and easy fit will look great with booties and paired with tights or even jeans as the temperatures continue to drop!
Neiman Marcus...up to 40% off sale items for the lowest price ever on in-season items!
Also, with CODE GC4YOU: Spend $200 and get a $50 gift certificate, $500 and get a $125 gift certificate, $1000 and get a $250 gift certificate and $2000 and get a $500 gift certificate.

I don't know about you, but November has felt like the shortest month in existence. I earnestly ask, where did the last four weeks go?!
After what I can only imagine was a multitude of Cyber Monday discussions (what, pray tell, did you procure?), I wanted to quickly share my experience with being the Beauty Collection Celeb Beauty Curator for November 2015. Having shopped at the Southern California-based boutique many times over in the past decade, I was honored to be able to convey my love of beauty products through this month long partnership. Sharing what I love is natural for me; it is, in essence, what inspired Beauty Professor from the start! Consequently, curating both classic selections and wearable beauty trends was an absolute delight and I hope you enjoy the links that follow.
Kindly scroll on for links to each of my posts and videos on the Beauty Collection blog site as well as the Bottom Line...
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this overview of a month long endeavor with Beauty Collection. Also, if you haven't yet seen it, my Cyber Monday post also features the travel beauty, skincare and style I embraced while in NYC last week...the unadulterated essentials!
Good things ahead including a niche brand highlight, my November favorites, a fresh FOTD and, of course, a holiday gift guide of epic proportions ; )
Above: Some favorites from Maison Francis Kurdjian.
I first met Francis Kurkdjian earlier this year at a Neiman Marcus event as was instantly intrigued by his mysterious energy. Reserved and soft spoken, he is endlessly polite. Do not, however, assume this interpersonal subtlety is any indication of his passion for fragrance! Highly lauded and significantly accomplished, Kurkdjian has accolades not only for his eponymous line, but also for over two decades’ worth of collaborations with fashion houses including Burberry, Jean Paul Gaultier and Narcisco Rodriguez. Today’s post is dedicated to some of my favorite winter discoveries from Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
Kindly scroll on for more details and images as well as the Bottom Line...
Above: With Francis Kurkdjian earlier this year.
Fragrance is a tricky entity...just when you settle into a daily routine with a go-to scent (for much of the summer and early fall, mine was a tradeoff between Byredo Gypsy Water reviewed HERE and Byredo x Oliver Peoples reviewed HERE), the weather changes and so does one’s olfactory interests. As the temperatures continue to drop, I find myself drawn to deeper, warmer scents that act as a direct counter to the briskness of the outdoors.
Currently, I’ve been entranced by Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris OUD Silk Mood. Housed in a gorgeous smoky glass and gold flacon, this unisex fragrance embodies the musky warmth of resin, coupled with the freshness of Bulgarian rose and chamomile tea for an unexpected take on a traditional skin scent. The lasting power is exceptional and it balances the elements of woodsy and sweet florals effortlessly. Luxurious on every level, I have been grabbing for it constantly as of late.
When I get home from a long day of lecturing, there is nothing that makes me feel more at home (save, for kicking off my heels, of course) than lighting a fragrant candle. The Maison Francis Kurkdjian Mon beau Sapin Candleexpressly delivers the holiday season to my living room in less than10 seconds. A melange of frosty pines and sweet woodlands, this candle would make a perfect hostess gift...but buy one for yourself first...you won’t regret it!
Above: I've been burning this candle constantly...it is aflame as I type this!
At Beauty Professor, I am constantly grateful to have the opportunity to test an array of unique products; that being said, the Maison Francis Kurkdjian Les Bulles d’Agathe(otherwise known as scented bubbles) are unlike anything I’ve encountered in four years of beauty writing. Darling as a stocking stuffer or present topper, these diminutive and candy-colored vials come in violet, pear and mint scents for a collision of sensory enjoyment.
Above: A charming fusion of fragrance and playtime.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this official introduction to the Maison Francis Kurkdjian line and would love to hear what you love from MMK...do share!
Good things ahead, including a travel beauty and skincare breakdown, a Cyber Monday shopping guide, an overview of some fresh beauty releases and a comprehensive holiday gift guide!
Happy Friday! If eyes are the window to the soul, then keeping them their brightest and most captivating is a worthy pursuit. Today, I am thrilled to share 6 transformational eye products that feign a rested look while offering a marvelous dash of color, perfect for the sleep-deprived and celebratory day and nights ahead.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
(1) *Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Eye Balm: Between a case of jet lag and long, end-of-the-semester teaching days, tired eyes have been the norm lately. Consequently, I have been on the hunt for a product that can recharge the orbital area, both instantly on the surface and at a deeper, more long-term level as well.
This portable eye balm by Elemis possesses all necessary criteria. I prefer to apply a bit right after my normal skincare (but before foundation) to hydrate, cool, brighten and tighten and then I toss the little tube in my handbag for when I require a mid-day refresher. I've been experimenting with this radiant formula it for the past three weeks -- not quite long enough to calibrate the long term effects -- and am impressed with its performance thus far.
This instantly illuminating and moisturizing eye balm by Elemis brightens and refreshed tired eyes. Skin-soothing chamomile and arnica are blended with birds of paradise flowers and optical blurring powders to help reduce the appearance of dark circles. Omega-rich apricot kernel oil nourishes the delicate eye contour area. The balm's cooling applicator provides targeted application underneath and on top of makeup. How to use: Apply to the skin just under the eye. The cooling applicator provides targeted application underneath and on top of makeup.
(2) *Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit: Contour does not need to be relegated only to the cheek area; this handy kit features three genius formulas, a smoothing base, a illuminating highlighter and a silky powder contouring shade, for subtle sculpting. Excellent for a "no makeup makeup" look or as a formidable base layer for the additional color to come, this compact holds the key to orbital optical illusions.
I use my ring finger to sweep the smoothing base over bare lids, add the contour in my crease and blend out for a lovely shadow and finish with some strategically-placed highlighter along my brow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten everything up while still looking entirely natural. This trio is invaluable!
Now every angle becomes your best angle.™ This expert all-in-one eye contouring trio contains everything you need to add depth and dimension for bigger, brighter, more defined-looking eyes:
Smoothing Base: Creamy formula preps and primes the lid for flawless, stay-put application.
Highlighter: Brighten shadows and accentuate the features you want with a creme highlighter.
Contour: Sweep on the powder contour to define the eye with multi-dimensional allure. Ideal for wearing alone or under eye makeup.
SEE THE TRANSFORMATION Look in the mirror. You'll love what you see with New Dimension—a face that looks radiant and more defined from every angle.
Usage: Step 1 Smooth: From left-hand pan of the Eye Kit, apply Smoothing Base on eyelid and to inner and outer corners of eye. Use fingertips or included brush applicator. (Tip: use one end of applicator for creamy formulas, the other for powder.)
Step 2 Highlight: From center pan, sweep Highlighter along browbone and to inner corner of eye. Use fingertips or same end of applicator.
Step 3 Contour: Flip the applicator and using the fresh brush, apply Contour from right-hand pan along outer third of top lashline. Then sweep in natural crease of eye.
(3) *Laura Mercier Sleek and Chic Eye Colour Palette: (also available at Neiman Marcus and Space NK): Since receiving this palette last month, I have been finding myself reaching for it more and more. A lovely balance of warm and neutral shades of varying intensities and finishes, the formula of the powder shadows is finely-milled and remarkably pigmented. I am especially smitten with African Violet, a shimmering lavender shadow that shifts to a warm, purple-tinged copper in the light. I also have been putting a marginal dent in the warmer Cedar and Bronze Glow tones and there are enough matte shades -- Ginger, Bamboo, Cashmere, Morning Dew, Stellar, Espresso Bean and Noir -- to please the most discriminating of eye shadow connoisseurs.
A $95 value, this limited-edition palette retails for a very reasonable $55...it's a marvelous gift to give and get!
(4) Le Metier de Beaute Eye Prisms: I have been using these creamy shadows for the past month and a half and love how translucent, radiant and stalwart they are. Although there are eight shades, I recommend starting with the soft golden Ultra Suede (perfect as an eye shadow base and highlighter) and the neutral light taupe Neoprene (which is a gorgeous, all over the lid shade).
The formula glides on and blends easily; once it dries down, it stays in place for the entire day without budging and even though the shades have a satin finish, the shimmer is so finely milled (no fallout) that I daresay even those adverse to such a finish will find these shadows sophisticated rather than glittery.
The perfect compliment to our true color eye shadows, these weightless liquid shadows are indestructable, crease proof and radiant. The easy to apply, long wearing formula can be used alone or as a base for our true color eye shadows.
(5) *Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencils: The name of these recently-released gems says it all; although this liner looks like a typical pencil, the ultra-smooth gel texture of the formula glides on even the most delicate parts of the eye (here's looking at you, waterline) without any tugging or pulling whatsoever. It embodies the fluid feel of a liquid with the lasting power of a pencil...magnifique!
Additionally, the intensely-pigmented shades perform like a waterproof liner, masterfully staying in place without smudging or flaking. I am particularly partial to the neutral light grey Embrase, the rich black Noir Intense and the matte pale violet Baroque, which is much more wearable than one might imagine (see how I chose to style it later on in the post).
An extreme, long-wear, high-intensity color liqui-pencil eyeliner.
What it does: This eyeliner has the high intensity color of a liquid liner and the ease of application of a pencil. Glide on smooth color while giving eyes maximum color intensity and all-day wear. Featuring a creamy, instantly blendable formula, it sets quickly for 24-hour wear—without budging or fading.
What it is formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates
What else you need to know: Create a smoky effect by smudging product immediately. This product is free of fragrance and ophthalmalogist-tested.
(6) *Lancome Sourcils Tint: In this age of "Instagram brows," there may be what feels like a million brow products on the market, causing one to lament, like wise King Solomon, that "there is nothing new under the sun." That being said, this newest brow release from Lancome feels extremely fresh!
The fine-tipped felt pen yields a long lasting, matte finish (yet translucent) liquid formula that fills in sparse areas and stays in place without fading or rubbing off. Applied conservatively, and your brows look like the best version of their natural selves; applied with a bit more verve and brows take on a dramatic, yet entirely believable, form that doesn't disappear until you choose to remove it.
I am duly enchanted with the novel way in which a beautifully polished brow can be achieved with this product (#03 Braun is an excellent match for my neutral ash brown tone) and implore you to give it a spin.
Lancôme Sourcil Tint Longwear Eyebrow Pen is a felt-tip pen that delivers the perfect amount of matte-finish product with each swipe, filling in your brows and giving definition where needed. How to use: Apply one layer for a natural, soft look or layer for a more intense, bold look.
Finally, the Gucci Audacious Lipstick in Iconic Red (also available at Neiman Marcus and Gucci.com) seemed the perfect compliment for this eye look, especially in light of the minimal makeup on the face (just a light application of the By Terry Light-Expert Click Pen Foundation #05...reviewed HERE). Iconic Red is just that...a neutral, classic, timeless carnelian with the quintessential balance of hydration, creaminess and shine. My lips absolutely love the Gucci lip color formula and this shade should be in every red-lover's lip wardrobe!
Above: The Gucci lip color in Iconic Red applies so beautifully...it's hydrating, smoothing and wears off evenly.
The following images reflect all products in action...
Above: I first applied the Elemis Eye Balm to brighten and hydrate the eye area. I then followed the three steps for the Estee Lauder Shape + Sculpt for subtle contour. Next, I blended a touch Le Metier de Beaute Eye Prism in Ultra Suede over my upper eyelid and added a bit of Neoprene at the crease. I followed with Laura Mercier African Violet and blended outward. Finally, I applied Lancome Baroque close to my upper lash line and swept a light combination of Lacome Embrase and Noir Extreme along my lower lash line for a multi-dimensional effect.

Good things ahead including a fresh NARS-heavy FOTD, a host of new beauty + skincare procurements and a beauty-laden holiday shopping gift guide.
Above: Product details for this look are later in this post.
Hello, lovelies...I hope your weekend is going well. I've been spending my time off, thus far, engaged in a serious round of photography (so many beauty posts to come) and some minor coding--as in that of the HTML variety...good times ; )
That being said, I am excited to share that Beauty Professor has undergone a layout update! With a more streamlined aesthetic and easy-to-navigate tabs, this new design feels fresh yet familiar and I truly hope you feel at home with the changes.
Although my comprehensive holiday gift guide is currently in the works (slated to go live in less than a week!) I couldn't let another day go by without sharing five key gifts--expressly for the quintessential beauty lover--to give or get. They are equal parts luxurious and utilitarian, guaranteeing that they will captivate one's attention for more than a fleeting moment.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action...
(1) *By Terry Gold Elixir Glace (also available at Barney's NY, SpaceNK and Net-A-Porter): I was first able to preview this splendid formula a couple of months ago and have since eagerly awaited its official release. Infused with 24K gold particles and light-reflecting properties, this multipurpose cream is rich and radiant, offering hydration and glow in a single application.
I have used this formula as a:
Radiant primer/makeup base...foundation adheres well and lasts the day without migrating
A mix-in with foundation to increase luminosity
A boost of glow atop makeup...I add a touch of this along my upper cheek bones and brow bones for an ethereal result (as worn in the images at the end of the post)
The cream, which is scented with the iconic By Terry fragrance, feels silky and light and is absorbed into skin instantly; it imparts a healthy sheen that works just as well on the decollete as it does on the face. This is a luxurious splurge to be sure, however, its uses are endless, making it the jar you reach for time and again...I've even decanted a touch into a sample jar for gleaming touch ups on the go!
This dazzling elixir, enriched with 24K gold micro-particles and precious prisms, illuminates the skin with an ultra-smoothing and skin enhancing "iced-nude" corrective glaze.
INGREDIENTS: Aqua / Water, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Silica, CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, Cyclomethicone, Butylene Glycol, Mica, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Parfum / Fragrance, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Phospholipids, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Methylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Diethylhexyl Syringylidenemalonate, CI 77491 / Iron Oxides, Tetrasodium Edta, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ethylparaben, Citric Acid, CI 77492 / Iron Oxides, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Tin Oxide, Alpha-isomethyl Ionone, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Geraniol, Eugenol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Coumarin, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides, Gold [Nano]. (2) *Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Duo in Tibet (previously reviewed HERE and also available at Neiman Marcus, Barney's NY and Net-A-Porter): Absolute perfection for the one who adores taupe, this eye shadow pairing features a rich, slightly warm medium taupe and an incandescent silvery light taupe for a stunning take on a neutral eye. The shadow is weightless and smooth, with no fallout and impressive lasting power. Finally, a chic, wearable compact that will invite you to use both shades frequently and equally.
(3) *Byredo Rose of No Man's Land: As if the beautiful story that inspired this fragrance (see below) wasn't enough, the scent itself is otherworldly. The rose note is clearly identifiable yet tempered by a woodsy, musky base that translates more as "skin scent" than traditional floral. Like every Byredo fragrance I've encountered to date (reviewed HERE and HERE), the packaging is gorgeous and the lasting power is utterly marvelous.
Rose of No Man's Land is a tribute to the nurses (often referred to by soldiers as "Rose of No-Man's Land") who saved thousands of lives on the front lines of WWI, their story is one of selflessness and compassion. The perfume is like a soothing balm; sophisticated elegance envelops the skin and strengthens the backbone. The pink peppercorn provides the delicate flower with the momentum needed to break through the Earth. Turkish rose petals open optimistically one by one, and the perfect rose heart combines with a radiant chord or raspberry. Finally, a base of papyrus wood and wood amber gives the rose an eternal and sophisticated aura; a bud of immense purity.
Moved by this fragrant tribute to the unknown heroines of WWI, Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen partnered with Byredo and photographer Craig McDean to convey the beauty of the new fragrance, Rose of No Man's Land is a singular, stunning image.
Top: Pink Pepper and Turkish Rose Petals. Heart: Raspberry Blossom and Turkish Rose Absolute. Base Papyrus and White Amber.
(4) *Wayne Goss Holiday Brush: Available for early access customers on 12/8 and available online to the public on 12/9, this latest installment from the epic collaboration between Wayne Goss and Beautylish has gift written all over it! Handmade, super soft and ever so opulent, this finishing brush distributes loose powder evenly without disrupting any makeup already applied.
What it is: A decadently soft finishing brush made with cruelty-free blue squirrel hair and a synthetic weave for shape and resilience. Handmade in Japan, the Holiday Brush features uncut bristles and a black lacquered handle.
How to use it: Use the Holiday Brush to blend away harsh lines and set makeup without disturbing it. Its unique shape glides over the curves of the face for a flawless finish every time.
(5) *Le Metier de Beaute Moisture Matte Lipstick: As the name so succinctly implies, this latest lip color formula from the LMdB line paradoxically balances the nourishing hydration with a velvety matte finish. It glides over my perennially dry lips with ease, leaving behind an ultra-pigmented (though relatively weightless) swath of color that wears comfortably for hours. The very versatile La Vie en Rose and L'Ete Indien have been in my purse nonstop for two weeks now and I am working up the courage to wear Smoke for more than just a picture (forthcoming)! The sleek tubes house six different shades, each with a personality of its own.
Shade Descriptions (per my experience):
Amelie: A classic and bright neutral red; sure to be stunning on a spectrum of skin colors, especially for holiday parties!
La Vie en Rose: Pale nude pink beige--this is quite light but lovely for muting out the lips.
Tokyo: Bold fuchsia pink...a pink lover's dream.
Cinema: True vibrant coral that is equal parts retro and modern.
L'Ete Indien: Light-medium warm pink, excellent for everyday...I love mixing this with La Vie en Rose (worn below) for a pigmented yet soft baby pink lip.
Smoke: Deep aubergine purple-meets-oxblood for a vampy effect.
Above (from L-R): Amelie, La Vie en Rose, Tokyo, Cinema, L'Ete Indien and Smoke.
Soft, Not Subtle. Specialized pigments for hydrating, brilliant, indelible color.
The fashionable matte lip goes luxe with Le Métier de Beautés revolutionary matte lip formula that hydrates as it leaves a luxurious, velvety-matte finish on lips. The non-drying crème formula imparts dramatic color onto lips using specialized pigments that extend wear while providing ultimate color payoff that won't feather or bleed. A unique hydrating and soothing wax technology delivers both intense color and moisture for a smooth, silky application and maximum comfort.
Exclusively ours. The high pigmented Moisture Matte Collection of Lipsticks from Le Métier de Beauté give the allure of matte with the benefit of hydration. Vivid long-lasting color glides smoothly over lips, leaving a daring, luxurious velvety-matte finish. Be bold, wear color.
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this initial beauty-laden gift overview and would love to know what has caught your eye and may be on your list!
Good things ahead, including a couple of FOTDs, a host of new beauty and skincare products and, of course, my complete holiday gift guide. I am also in the midst of catching up with emails and comments...this blog overhaul took more time this past weekend than I thought it would...doesn't everything?!
Happy Friday! This week, like so many as of late, was a flash...the end of the semester, coupled with beauty events and a debate tournament this weekend has definitely contributed to my currently sleep-deprived state. How is YOUR December going?
As the title implies, today's post is dedicated to personal style, skincare empties and a couple of gift-giving (or getting!) favorites from Space.NK.
Kindly scroll on for more details, images and the Bottom Line...
I never thought I would be wearing a dress and tennis shoes a this point in my life; there is something, however, about the combination that is equal parts comfortable and chic and this outfit above and below embodies the effortlessness of the equation.
Style Details:
Glamourous Black and Tan Shirt Dress (also worn HERE): Versatile and in my favorite color palette (neutrals!), this dress is timeless and very reasonably priced. I picked mine up while in Brooklyn last month but I was thrilled to be able to find it available online as well.
Alexander McQueen x Puma High Tops: This shoe is the culmination of one of the last collaborations between Alexander McQueen (prior to his death) and Puma. Nude leather and a hidden platform take this shoe to the next level and I am so glad I tracked them down.
Fringe Bag by Seth Wegter Bags: This bag holds everything while still feeling quite light and comfortable...it's been my standard for over six months and counting.
Key Beauty Products Used:
By Terry Click Brush Foundation in #05 (reviewed HERE): Medium coverage with a velvety finish, this foundation perfects skin while still looking entirely natural...and the lasting power is significant.
Christian Louboutin Lip Definer in Nats (reviewed HERE): Self-sharpening and the most perfect pinky nude, I applied around my lip line and then filled in my lips for a lasting mauve effect.
*By Terry Gold Baume de Rose Parure(also featured below): The pinky pearl glow of this LE lipgloss added just the right amount of radiance to the lipliner base...such a breathtaking installment of a cult favorite.
Above: With my mom and BP Assistant, Laura (on her birthday last week).
Above: Empties!
Next, I wanted to share some recent empties I had the pleasure of tossing into the recycling bin; there is such a sense of satisfaction in totally and utterly finishing a product. All five of these gems hve been
*Mila Moursi Dual Action Serum (reviewed HERE): My uniquivocal "go-to" from the Mila Moursi line, this anti-aging serum does it all...firming, lifting, clarifying and hydrating...and it adds a gorgeous glow to skin. I highly recommend this as an excellent foray into the Mila Moursi line.
*Mial Moursi Firming Body Lotion (reviewed HERE): I focus my application of this gorgeous formula on my arms and legs for an extra firm and toned effect...and the hydration it imparts cannot be beat.
*Aveeno Sheer Hydration Daily Moisturizing Lotion (discussed HERE): A great after shower moisturizer, especially during warmer weather (it absorbs instantly), this unscented formula is marvelous for sensitive skin.
Finally, I've been enjoying two holiday treats from SpaceNK:
(1) *SpaceNK Shimmering Spice Candle: A SpaceNK exclusive, this luxurious candle, which makes a excellent host/hostess gift, candle emanates the scents of the season with warm cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and citrus collaborating to create a lively and inviting aroma.
The faceted, shimmering glass is further illuminated when the candle is lit, inspiring a lovely light dance on nearby objects. So entrancing!
(2) *By Terry Gold Baume de Rose Parure: I have already reviewed two products from the stunning By Terry Gold Gotha Holiday 2015 Collection; my overview of the lip palette can be found HERE and the details focused on the LE Elixir Glace can be found HERE. This formula, by the way, is flying off of the shelves...and I suggest getting it while you still can! To round out this veritable trio of magnificence, this ornament-sized beauty features the iconic By Terry Baume de Rose scent and formula, infused with real gold for a subtly shimmering baby pink effect that deeply moisturizes while it luminizes. It's a touch thicker in texture than the original formula, which I think makes it that much better for the colder months ahead. Truly a gift to give and get.
FYI, SpaceNK will be having a promotion beginning on Dec. 14...simply spend $125+ and receive a gift bag worth over $150 while supplies last. Use code: SPNKGIFT at checkout!

I would love to know which products are on YOUR list to give or get...do share!
Prepare to bathe yourself in light, lovelies! Today, I present to you a glimpse at a part of the Dolce & Gabbana The Essence of Holidays Collection. This trio of products illuminates the visage in a glow that looks equal parts ethereal and entirely natural!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action...
Consisting of a limited-edition shimmer powder, a nail lacquer and a sheer lip gloss, my selections from the Dolce & Gabbana Essence of Holidays collection are understated yet stunning. Harnessing the delicate beauty of pale pearls, golds and beiges, this trio works well alone while also possessing the power to transform the look of other products...versatile, indeed.
*The Glow Light Illuminating Shimmer Powderis a fascinating incarnation. Although its moniker implies a "powder," the texture is much bouncier and creamier, similar to a very thin cream eye shadow. Once swept on to the skin, it imparts a golden light that melds with the complexion instantly. I am impressed by the stunning impact of this ultra-light formula; it is finely milled so the shimmer is radiant rather than glittery and the lasting power is significant. Combine those stellar attributes with the fact that it's limited edition and this is a run, don't walk situation!
Create memorable moments with The Essence of Holiday collection by Dolce&Gabbana Beauty. Glow Light Illuminating Shimmer Powder dusts your face in radiance, brightening it through an exquisite blend of pearlescent tones. Its smooth, velvety texture and lightweight feel cloak your skin in rare, shimmering perfection.
Above: A swatch of the Glow Light Shimmer Powder in direct sunlight...so golden and gossamer.
Above: My D&G Holiday trio of choice.
Above: Two coats of Glow Light on the nails.
*The Nail Lacquer in #104 Glow Light is a luminous golden beige that allows the natural beauty of one's nails to shine through. The formula is still a touch sheer after two coats, but I appreciate the low-maintenance sheen that this shade creates. The color is fool proof and I quite like the precise brush inherent with the D&G nail lacquers...it allows me to apply the polish quickly while mitigating the risk of crossing over to cuticles. Glow Light is every neutral lover's dream!
Dolce&Gabbana Beauty The Nail Lacquer is inspired by the unique and vibrant colors coming down the brand's runways. It features a brush that has been expertly redesigned to ensure great synergy with the high-performance nail formulation. The new brush features a rounded cut and 470 bristles to offer a smooth, effortless application with minimal streaking.
Above: The Sheer Shine Gloss in #40 Pearl Shine.
*Sheer Shine Gloss in #40 Pearl Shine...if one combined the essence of platinum, gold and silver with a touch of crushed pearls, they would find themselves with the ingredients neecessary to create Pearl Shine. This dazzling gloss somehow manages to be excessively shiny without the usual bells and whistles of obvious glitter. The soft pearl sheen really sets it apart, offering a blurring effect that makes lips look their fullest and healthiest. When used in tandem with a neutral lip liner (like Chanel Lipliner in Nude/Modore), this gloss takes on a "my lips but better" persona and the hydrating, non-sticky formula further enhances is value in lip color land...bellissima!
Sheer Shine Gloss by Dolce&Gabbana Beauty gives your lips a dewy look that’s perfect for any occasion. The high-shine formula boasts a fluid texture that glides on, resulting in a high-beam glow with a gorgeous touch of shimmer. Pro tips: For quick on-the-go use, the lip gloss can be used day or night by itself or layered over a lip liner or lipstick for full, showstopping glamour.

Good things ahead, including a jewelry and lip color feature (an apropos addition to my current holiday gift guide suggestions) a fresh video (!) and a host of new product procurements...cannot wait to share ; )
Hello lovelies! Last week, I shared my 2015 Holiday Gift Guide with the promise of a final installment, focused on jewelry, lip color and a dash of style on sale, just in time for last-minute gift procurement. The products featured are some of my favorite daily essentials, plucked from my collection to be highlight in this story!
Kindly scroll on for jewelry, lip color and style suggestions aplenty as well as the Bottom Line...
My jewelry taste is fairly specific...I prefer a combination of gold and silver pieces that can be worn everyday. Classic, effortless and unique, these choices embody a relaxed elegance that works year round.
The Loren Stewart Ball Choker is one of my latest acquisitions. This 14K gold wire necklace fits close yet comfortably to the neck, making it a piece to never take off...I sleep and shower in mine as it and the fact that it isn't a chain allows one to layer necklaces with it without fear of tangling.
Also pictured, the divine *Norell fragrance, a floral-meets-musk that first launched in 1968. This updated version is gorgeous for daily wear.
Next up is the Victorinox Square Watch, which I've had for years. The gold and chrome metal, classic shape and easy to read face seamlessly blend to any style and it pairs well with bracelets.
Another watch I've been loving as of late is this*Daniel Wellington rose gold watch. Featuring a clean, bright face with Roman numerals and a striped, cloth and leather band, this preppy gem adds a dash of understated color to my generally monochromatic outfits.
Long necklaces are difficult to come by; fortunately, this latest style by *Sequin NYC allows one to customize their creation, offering choice of metal (gold or silver), length of long chain and up to three talisman charms, tailored to one's personality. I chose the longest size link chain in gold, along with a gold feather, pave key and mini gold evil eye for a unique layering piece.
In terms of bracelets, may I suggest the *Monica Vinader Fiji Friendship Bracelet, which allows for color and metal customization to suit one's specific taste; the rounded metal section fits like a glove on most wrists and the woven half is comfortable and easy to adjust. So chic!
Above: Jewelry loving!
Above: Accessories.
To round out the category, here are a few accessories that have been on constant replay in my routine:
Vintage Cartier scarf...I love all things silk scarf and Cartier-related so this gem from The Real Real, which guarantees authenticity of its barely used designer items, hits all the marks. Timeless and useful (hair accessory! belt! fix for a too-low top!), this holiday season is a great time to start collection.
*Maison Margiela Replica Lipstick On...brand new from the Margiela line, this dreamy fragrance is reminiscent of all the best moments of getting ready in front of mirror. Softly sweet and subtly floral, this is a MUST for makeup lovers.
Gigi New York iPhone Wallet Case...available for monogram, this genius wallet features a detachable iPhone case for flexibility and convenience on the go. I've used my green version nonstop for nearly a year!
Above: Transitioning from jewelry to lip color now...
Above: Candy Lipz.
Onto lip color! First, I'd like to mention a product with which I've been experimenting for the past month or so. *Candy Lipz is a lip plumping device which safely utilizes suction to bring fullness to one's pout. I love the fact that it has an optional divider so one can concentrate the plumping on the upper (in my case) or lower lip rather affecting both equally. If you've tried every topical lip plumper and are ready for a new way of increasing volume in a matter of two minutes (results last 2-6 hours and are supposed to be longer lasting with frequent and consistent use), then consider giving Candy Lipz a spin.
Before moving on to here are two holiday lip kits exclusives from Make Up Forever that will make lip gloss lovers swoon:
First, meet the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Plexi-Gloss Kit (currently on sale, it's a veritable steal). This charming quartet comes in a orange zipper pouch for luscious lips on the go. The formula is moisturizing, extremely long lasting and impressively pigmented and, although the ultra shiny finish is slightly sticky, I believe that is what contributes to the gloss' longevity overall. The kit contains:
Nude Beige: My absolute new favorite, this insanely pigmented shade alone makes this kit worthwhile. It creates the perfect plush nude lip alone or atop lip liner or a pink or nude lip color...AMAZING.
Pearly Nude
Red Coral
Candy Pink
Above: The flat paddle doe foot applicator of the MUFE Plexi-Gloss is unique and effective.
For those who have an insatiable thirst for lip gloss, consider the MAKE UP FOR EVER Plexi-Gloss Collection. Brimming over with 12 glosses of varying shades and finishes ranging from a pale pearly beige all the way to a deep and lush burgundy, this color-saturated collection contains:
Pearly Light Beige
Brown Beige

LIP COLOR
Here are some of my absolute favorite lip color formulas in three color families: Classic Nudes, Jewel Tones and Darker Neutrals...scroll on for images, details, links to reviews and, of course, swatches:
Classic Nudes // Beautiful light beiges, peaches and pinks for a muted lip that makes an impact
Burberry Kisses Gloss in Nude Beige...delightfully unscented and not the slightest bit sticky, this opaque pinky nude looks lovely alone or over lip pencil for effortlessly shiny lips.
Jewel-Toned Pinks, Reds and Corals // For a creamy, bright pop of color that doesn't overwhelm.
MustaeV Lip Palette Red...this versatile and affordable 10 shade palette possesses a spectrum of rich, buildable and blendable shades for endless combination. Yet another highly recommended from the venerable MustaeV line!
Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Cheek Tint...softly pigmented and endlessly creamy, this tender peachy pink looks amazing dabbed onto the apples of one cheeks and can also be swept over lips for a mod 1960's pale pink result.
Armour Beauty V Gloss in Gilda...in honor of famed comedian Gilda Radner, this glowing bright pink is vegan, pigmented, moisturizing and long wearing...so lovely.
Above: Koh Gen Do Cheek Tint...swatched in sunlight, this creamy formula is a beautiful pale peach for a naturally just pinched look that can be applied to lips or cheeks.

Mid-Toned Neutrals // For a deeper nude that looks ever so "my lips but better."

December: A month of much reveling and very little sleep! That precarious ratio, without a doubt, can take a toll on the orbital area and today I am thrilled to be sharing an freshly-released antidote to the fatigue sustained within one's eyes, complements of the venerable Mila Moursi line (also available at Beautylish and SpaceNK and reviewed HERE and HERE). I have coupled this newfound freshness with a few novel beauty finds (including foundation!) that create a polished wintertime look.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
The Mila Moursi Triple Action Eye Contour Cream is genius. Housed in an airtight tube to keep active ingredients at their full potency, this formula is instantly hydrating and the metal applicator tip adds a cooling sensation that is positively revitalizing!
Thicker than a gel but lighter than a traditional cream, the texture is soothing and absorbs immediately; the scent is incredibly light and doesn't irritate my perpetually sensitive (thanks, allergies and contact lens) eyes.
Designed to tighten, brighten and lift on contact, I am finding myself using this cream both morning and night for added reinforcements. Although I don't battle major dark circles, my compromised sleeping schedule has definitely created some bags and this cream has made a difference. I like to apply a bit with the cooling tip, then use my ring finger to gently tap it into my orbital area.
Like everything in the Mila Moursi line, consistency is emphasized and valued over the promise of instant results and so I shall continue to use this regularly and weigh back in next month. So far, however, my mom and I are both loving our experience with this formula!
This brightening eye cream combines the ultimate in nature and science to help reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffy eyes
Eyes are rejuvenated and fine lines reduced through the combination of plant-based, revitalizing anti-aging actives and moisturizing amino acids that mimic the skin’s natural moisturizing capabilities for optimal delivery
Powerful anti-oxidant actives simultaneously shield the eye’s delicate skin from environmental stress
Key Ingredients: Combination of anti-aging peptides, Marine Extracts, Oat Extract, and plant-based actives
Above: Mila Moursi specialists applying the Triple Action Eye Contour Mask during a special event at Barney's Beverly Hills.
The Triple Action Eye Contour Maskis excellent for moments when additional eye care is called for. The gel half moon masks, which are drenched in a concentrated formula designed to combat fine lines and instantly brighten, nestle neatly in the lower orbital area and stay in place for the 15-20 minute treatment time until removed. Any remaining serum should subsequently be massaged into the skin (rather than rinsed) to take full advantage of the sachet.
Absolutely apropos to address eye concerns incurred during the the pre- and post-holiday festivities of the month, now is a perfect time to test the eye mask's transformative powers!
Edward Bess Flawless Illusion Transforming Full Coverage Foundation in shade Medium...this fragrance-free foundation is a solid cream with instant medium coverage that is effortlessly buildable to full coverage. As soon as I saw it on the Neiman Marcus website, I knew that I had to try it and I am certainly glad I acquiesced to my whim! I prefer to apply this with a slightly dampened Beauty Blender for the most seamless coverage and I would deem this a natural skin finish...it is neither dewy nor overly matte but it does take on a slightly radiant look (which I don't mind at all) over the course of wear. It banishes the look of pores and fine lines without looking like a mask and feels comfortable and breathable while boasting magnificent longevity. I am smitten, indeed!
*Le Metier de Beaute Creme Fresh Tint in Zinnia blended with my ring finger onto the apples of my cheeks. This gleaming medium pink offers a just pinched look with a slight glow...so uplifting and natural!
*Le Metier de Beaute Indelible Eye Prism in Lurex...a golden light bronze with subtle luminosity, this easy to apply (hello, doe foot!) eye shadow makes for a beautiful wash of color over lids; it is also creaseless and incredibly long lasting. In the images that follow, I blended it on my upper lid and along my lower lash line for a warm, slightly shimmering effect.
*Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Gel Eye Liner in Sequoia...a rich and creamy brown (read: not quite matte, but no shimmer) in one of the smoothest formulas on the market, this eyeliner glides on without tugging and stays in place for hours For the look below, I applied a touch on my lower waterline and focused the majority of my attention on the upper lash line to create a softly smudged winged line.
*Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss in Reckless Bloom...Ahh...there is just something about a new pink lip gloss to lift one's spirits. Estee Lauder had been captivating my attention lately with its gorgeously high-performance releases and this latest formula in the lip color range does not disappoint. Pigmented, hydrating and long wearing without feeling particularly sticky, this gloss offers a mirror like shine that adds volume and dimension to the lips. Couple that with a subtle vanilla scent that is alluring without being overpowering and this gloss isn't leaving my handbag any time soon!

Meet a breakthrough smart-makeup that redefines foundation and defies all expectations. The revolutionary formula combines the moisture benefits of a cream based makeup with optic blurring powders to create the illusion of an immaculate complexion. Pure color pigments transform within this cream-to-powder formula to deliver full coverage that remains lightweight and comfortable on the skin. Built-in memory technology ensures this unique two-in-one formula blends seamlessly so the complexion looks dramatically smoother and more perfected.
Above: Buildable and long lasting with a natural, skin finish, I have a feeling I will be reaching for this foundation all season!
Above: A swatch of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss in Reckless Bloom...a gorgeous nude rose.
Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this introduction to these new innovations from the Mila Moursi line (also available at Beautylish and SpaceNK). I have been nothing but pleased with everything I've tried from this elite collection and am excited to continue to monitor results with the eye products. Additionally, the Edward Bess Flawless Illusion Foundation is a marvelous full coverage option, I always have much love for the Le Metier de Beaute line (close up of some of my brand favorites forthcoming) and I cannot wait to get my hands on more shades of the brand new Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss!

Above: The Giorgio Armani Luxe Is More Palette, Maestro Brushes and Maestro Lip Stain #500.
The Giorgio Armani Luxe is More Palette (also available at Neiman Marcus, Barney's NY, and Saks Fifth Avenue) is a two-layered wonder; the first layer houses 10 bewitching satin-finish, color rich powder eye shadows and the second layer contains a trio of complexion perfectors--two concealers and a translucent powder to be exact--to brighten up the oft-shadowed under eye region. Housed in a comely soft gold compact, the shades work in concert to create a pared-down, minimalist yet exceedingly beautiful effect that will flatter a range of skin tones. This limited-edition palette is every bit as luxurious as the name implies!
To compliment the neutral-eyed look that follows, I integrated the Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro #500 (also reviewed HERE), a creamy, pigment-saturated lip stain best described as a medium rosy nude. Every time I reach for this shade, someone asks me what I'm wearing and though my menagerie of nude lip color is extensive, I am hard-pressed to identify duplicates in my collection.
To apply the shadows and concealers from the Luxe is More Palette, I have been employing the use of three brushes from the new Giorgio Armani Maestro Brush Collection:
The Maestro Angled Eye Brush: Whimsically fluffy and white, this brush features angled bristles that harmonize with the contour of the eye for luxuriously accurate application of powder and cream shades.
The Maestro Blending Eye Brush: Marvelous for blending in the crease, the tapered tip is extremely effective for diffusing color.
The Maestro Concealer Brush: This flat brush adeptly applies concealer, even in the small and sensitive orbital area.
Above (from L-R): The Angled Eye Brush, the Blending Eye Brush and the Concealer Brush.
Giorgio Armani introduces the Luxe is More Palette, an oversized collection of colors for your eyes, cheeks and face. The top pan is filled with 10 harmonious eye shadows in a blend of colors that allow you to create a perfect nude eye on the go, while a second pan features a silky compact powder for a flawless, glowing look and two shades of compact cream foundation to sculpt and contour the face. The palette is tucked inside an exclusive velvet pouch and comes with two eye shadow applicators.
As aforementioned, the top layer consists of 10 subtly chic neutral eye shadows, most of which have a luminous satin finish. These shadows blend like a dream and play well together, enabling infinite possibilities. I prefer to apply directly to the lid (this formula is essentially crease-free which means no need for primer unless your lids are extra dewy to begin with) and let creativity take care of the rest; because every shade is neutral, there is a quiet confidence in experimenting, especially in light of the fact that this color collection is basically foolproof.
The shadows themselves are finely-milled with very little fallout and even though most shades possess a satin finish, there is no need to fear a "glitter effect." The luminosity is so effortlessly subtle that even the most shimmer-phobic individual would have grave difficulty finding fault in the finish. Simply exquisite!
Shade Descriptions (per my experience):
1. Pale shell beige (satin)
2. Warm light rose gold (satin)
3. Shimmering pale copper (satin)
4. Light neutral champagne (satin)
5. Rich black (matte)
6. Luminous ice blue (satin)
7. Radiant pearl white (satin)
8. Neutral light taupe (satin)
9. Warm rosy light taupe (satin)
10. Deep aubergine (satin)
Above: Swatches in outdoor lighting.
Above: A closeup of the top layer of the palette.
Above: Swatches in direct sunlight.
Above: Layer two...three components for a perfected visage.
The second layer consists of two creamy concealers and a translucent setting powder. Both of the concealers are the same formula as the Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup Compact (swatched and reviewed HERE) and I find that a mixture of shades 1 and 2 banish all under eye darkness in seconds; the creamy formula is also excellent for mid-day touch ups, especially around the nose and mouth.
From a shade perspective, these two options will work best for fair to medium skin (@N/NW/NC 15-@N/NW/NC 30) but the translucent setting powder can be used on all skin types with great success.
Above: Swatches of the concealers (1 + 2) and powder (3) in direct sunlight.
Italist: Up to 50% off--I've been consistently pleased with my ordering experience from this European e-tailer and I have my eye on this unique Fendi key wallet.
Neiman Marcus: Up to 60% off designer sale--I am saying "yes, please" to this Shoshanna dress, perfect for work and play.
Net-A-Porter: A major sale (up to 70% off) across all categories--this 10K gold ear cuff (at drastic markdown, I might add) is unique and excellent for everyday wear.
Nike: So many lovely gift options--I wear my Nikes constantly and these Air Max 1's may need to be added to the collection.
Nordstrom: The Half Yearly Sale for Men, Women and Kids begins now and runs through January; save up to 50% off on a vast collection of wear now items including this Burberry coat!

What are some of YOUR favorite Giorgio Armani Beauty products?
Good things ahead, including a Favorites of 2015 video, a New Year's Eve look and a host of product procurements. I am also in the midst of working my way through BP comments and emails...thanks for your patience in this busy time of year!
With New Year's Eve just days away, now is the time to contemplate which beauty look you will embrace to ring in 2016. Although I am generally apt to resort to bronzy skin, taupe lids and nude lips--my unequivocal go-to combination--I've decided to test the boundaries of my comfort zone and pursue a classic red lip and slightly smoky eye. Fortunately, this combination could not be easier to achieve thanks to the holiday-inspired Clé de Peau Beauté Bal Masque Coffret.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the coffret in action as well as the Bottom Line...
The*Clé de Peau Beauté Bal Masque Coffret (also available at CdPB and Barney's NY) is a gorgeous, limited-edition 3 piece set; reminiscent of a Venetian masquerade, the packaging takes opulence to another level. The coffret features a breathtakingly beautiful eye shadow quad in the greens of the season, a natural red lipstick and a bordeaux version of the Perfect Lash Mascara (reviewed HERE).
It's no secret that I adore the Clé de Peau Beauté eye shadow formula (extensively reviewed HERE). Buttery, pigmented and virtually creaseless, the blendable quads are of the highest quality. At first glance, the shades in the Bal Masque compact could prove intimidating. The bold gold and army green tones, while indisputably lovely, might cause one to question their wearability. I am happy to confirm, however, that they are entirely easy to work with!
Embossed with a masquerade imprint, the shades are deemed "metallic," although I would classify them as more of a satin finish. The luminosity is refined and translates well from day to night. Each shade could be worn alone as an all over wash of color, but I prefer to blend the green and gold with a dash of the lighter grey near the brown bone for good measure; this amalgamation results in a softly smoky eye that feels just right with a pop of red on the lips.
The quad contains:
A deep, smoky, slightly purple-leaning grey
A vibrant yellow gold
A lush army green
A soft and light taupe grey
Above: Swatches in direct sunlight.
Above: Swatches in mixed outdoor lighting.
The lip color, housed in the usual gold and black tube, this timed topped with a special red cover, is all sorts of resplendent beauty. Richly pigmented and intensely hydrating, this crimson wonder has a timeless quality that strikes the balance between bold and demure.
I love that all Clé de Peau Beauté lipsticks come in refillable containers; that is, the bullets can be removed and replaced thereby making each case a utilitarian purchase. The formula feels like velvet, has a marginally shiny cream finish and lasts for hours without feathering or fading. In the images that follow, I applied straight from the bullet and used a small concealer brush to enhance precision in the lip line area.
Due to its classic neutrality, I envision that Intense Crimson will flatter a spectrum of skin tones!
The Perfect Lash Mascara (also reviewed HERE) is the only product of the trio to come in a smaller size. The volumizing and lengthening formula is consistently one that I reach for when I seek longevity as it does not budge once applied. In all frankness, this mascara is more waterproof (although it doesn't make such claims) than some waterproof mascaras!
The glossy black bordeaux shade imparts just a touch of rich burgundy for a unique twist on dark lashes with an aubergine undertone. I actually prefer the size of this tube (bigger than a sample, smaller than the traditional option) as it fits into my makeup bag with ease. This shade is not currently available in the full size so the Bal Masque Coffret is the only way to bathe your lashes in such an indulgent veil of color.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this in-depth overview of the Clé de Peau Beauté Bal Masque Coffret (also available at CdPB and Barney's NY). Due to its limited-edition status, it's perfect for dedicated makeup collectors and the fact that every product is entirely wearable will guarantee that your investment is worthwhile.
I may only be at home on New Year's Eve, eating good food, playing games and watching the Twilight Zone with family and a few close friends, but I am excited to put the Bal Masque Coffret to the test as we bang pots and pans at the stroke of midnight!
What are YOUR New Year's Eve plans?
Good things ahead, including a Le Metier de Beaute-centric story, a fresh foundation feature and my beauty and skincare favorites of 2015 video!
Lipstick makes all the difference. I have mentally acknowledged this reality on an innumerable amount of occasions...from a swipe of baby pink to add a casual glow to a meticulously applied classic red for a timeless effect (see HERE), there is simply something so transformative about veiling one's lips in color. Today, I am excited to share two diverse looks--created by a pair of lipsticks on either side of the shade spectrum--featuring an array of new favorites from Le Metier de Beaute.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
LOOK #1: Beige for Days
The first look is a natural one for me; nude lips are my habitual go-to and the Moisture Matte Lip Color in La Vie en Rose (all shades swatched and reviewed HERE) takes neutral to another level! I combined this 1960's-inspired pale lip with some complexion basics for a warm, pared down take on polished minimalism...just because the pout is understated doesn't mean that everything else must be accentuated!
1. I prepped and evened my canvas with Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge #02 (reviewed HERE). This illuminator, primer, tinted moisturizer and anti-aging serum has been my first step (following skincare) for the past three years and my face would be lost without it.
4. In this look, I wanted the apples of the cheeks to look "just pinched" so I lightly buffed the brand new *Le Metier de Beaute Creme Fresh Tint in Zinnia, a glistening medium pink, into the cheek area with my ring finger. Long time a favorite, this formula is the perfect balance of pigmentation and radiance.
5. For a touch of highlight, I added a bit of the *Le Metier de Beaute Eye Prism in Angora (also reviewed HERE) along my upper cheekbones and brow bone. Once set, this gossamer-light, multitasking formula stays in place all day and I love that it can be used on the eyes, lips and face alike!
6. To complete the eyes, I blended the *Le Metier de Beaute Eye Prism in Lurex--a warm, shimmering nude--all over the upper lid and ran a bit along the lower lash line for definition.
7. I then took the indigo-meets-navy *Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Gel Eyeliner in Midnight and applied it along my lower waterline; the aqua tint feels modern and fresh. This eyeliner is smooth as silk and stays in place, even in a challenging area such as the waterline!
Look #2: Coral Forest Sometimes, one must venture outside of one's comfort zone and such is the case with this classic coral look. Combined with a modest brown winged eye and a vibrant Ferragamo silk scarf, the result is positively metamorphic!
To achieve this look, I followed steps 1-6 from above. Then, I:
7. Drew a medium-width line along the upper lash line with the *Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Gel Eyeliner in Sequoia, a rich matte brown, and brought it to a slight wing at the corners of the eye. Before it sets, his formula is smudgeable for a delightfully diffused finish.
Before this post concludes, I wanted to share a quick preview of my latest bootie acquisition; while undoubtedly a splurge, this pair from Gucci are perfect. With a decent, though entirely comfortable heel, a higher shaft (so chic to wear with this season's cropped denim) and an embossed back, I am absolutely smitten! Expect them to make a more refined appearance on BP in the very near future ; )
Above: These Gucci booties were love at first sight.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this Le Metier de Beaute lip color-centric tutorial and wish you a bounty of blessings in the New Year!
What are YOUR plans for the rest of this week?
Good things ahead in the imminent future, including a Best of 2015 video (!!) a host of new product discoveries and couple super exciting foundation features ; )
Looking forward to spending 2016 with you here at Beauty Professor!
