Above: Looking ahead to this new year with inquisitive anticipation.
Happy New Year, lovelies; I hope your first day of 2016 was a marvelous one! To get the next 366 days of the year started, I am excited to share a look at three new beauty products--two of which launched mere days ago--for next-level eyes, complexion and lips.

Kindly scroll on for more details, images and swatches as well as the Bottom Line...

Above: Troy Surratt in his element.
The first product has a backstory; my love for all things Surratt Beauty is no secret here at Beauty Professor (reviews HERE, HERE and HERE, to start) and when I was in NYC in November, I had the sublime opportunity to visit Surratt Beauty headquarters.

Above: Troy Surratt and BP in beauty heaven.
This auspicious experience allowed me to preview a few key future Surratt Beauty launches, one of which, is now available!  During our visit, I was able to take some informal shots of the Prismatique Eye prototypes and it took every fiber of my being to successfully refrain from swatching the completely pristine samples.  That being said, I am hoping to be able to share a spectrum of swatches and beauty looks with this formula in the very near future!

(1)Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes (also available at Barney's NY): This cream and powder eye shadow duo is genius.  The two layered packaging is sleek and stylistically advanced, with the cream formula residing on top and a swivel out powder shadow pan on the bottom.

The cream is pigmented and waterproof, enabling it to serve as a primer, smoothing eye shadow base, opaque veil of color and even, when applied with a brush, as an eyeliner. Intended to be a top coat of epic proportions, the powder shadow is smooth and shimmering for a multi-dimensional effect that makes eyes glow.

Although all eight shades are as gorgeous, I cannot help but be drawn to the warm taupe and brown options (Real Eyes and Neutral Eyes) for an everyday look while the adventurer in me wants to give the rich purple Glamour Eyes and uniquely khaki Mesmer Eyes a try!

giorgio armani maestro glow foundation swatches
Above: Meet the Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation.
(2) *Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup Bi-Phase Elixir SPF 30 (also available at for pre-order at Barney's NY): I am so excited that this formula is finally available as I have been testing it for the past month.  Comprised of pigment-saturated powders and skincare oils, once shaken the bottle creates a perfect blend of coverage and luminosity.  Although this new formula is as fluid and weightless feeling as the original Maestro foundation (reviewed HERE), the finish and coverage are slightly different.

I am glad that Giorgio Armani Beauty included the word "glow" in the title as I think it is the most apropos way of describing this base.  As one can ascertain from the swatches that follow, there is no obvious shimmer to the formula, however the subtle sheen creates an ethereal result that is infinitely flattering, even for those who may have a general aversion to radiant formulas.

I get instant medium coverage from a single application--four drops applied and blended on the forehead, both cheeks and chin--and prefer to add a touch of concealer, rather than an increased amount of foundation, on areas of the face that may require reinforcements.  The original Maestro formula gives me light to medium coverage, causing me to think that the Glow formula offers a touch more initial coverage overall.

The lasting power is impressive; when applied with fingers or even a Beauty Blender, I get 5-6 hours of touch up free wear time, which is exemplary for a luminous foundation.

Please note that this post is designed to be an introduction, rather than an in-depth review of this formula...I will be sharing comparison swatches and additional images of it in action on the face soon!

Official details, courtesy of Nordstrom:

Maestro Glow is the first bi-phase makeup elixir that gives you the richest glow in the thinnest texture. The light, silky formula gives you an instant and lasting glow thanks to true skincare oils infused with pure pigments. These oils make the texture comfortable, easy to apply and nourishing for women with drier skin. Each drop perfects the complexion.
How to use: Shake the bottle before using to blend the oils and pigments. Mix it on the back of your hand to prepare for application. Apply with your fingertips over the face from the center outward.
  • By Giorgio Armani; made in France.

(3)Tom Ford Lips & Boys (also available at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman): A new round of Lips & Boys shades--25 to be exact--were released right after Thanksgiving and I finally got around to procuring a few to add to my collection (other shades reviewed HERE and HERE).

I selected:
  • Austin: A light neutral salmon nude pink with a creamy finish.  This shade is slightly darker than my beloved Flynn (reviewed HERE) and is shinier and lighter than the matte First Time (reviewed HERE)...a total no-brainer in my book.
  • Jude: A cool and creamy baby pink with lilac leanings.  This shade is similar in depth to Flynn but possesses a indisputably cooler undertone that makes it unique yet entirely wearable.
  • Rocco: A bright medium pink with duo-chrome glitter.  Despite my best attempts, I don't feel like I adequately captured the glittery aspect of this shade when swatching, however, I assure you that this is a luminous gem for those who prefer a cheerful, deeper pink that borderlines of fuchsia.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this eyes, complexion and lips new beauty feature and would love to know what you think of the products--namely, the Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes, Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup Bi-Phase Elixir SPF 30 and Tom Ford Lips & Boys--discussed.

Good things ahead, including my 2015 Favorites video, an accessories spotlight and a foundation-focused story!

xx and have a beautiful weekend,

Until a couple of weeks ago, the Natasha Denona line was not on my radar; once, however, Beautylish began to carry the brand, I started receiving questions from readers who wondered if I had yet tried the foundation.  Now, I am happy to say that I have not only tried the base but the entire glowing system and look forward to sharing an overview of my experience in this post!

Incidentally, I must also declare that today's beauty story also coincides with two events: (1) 4-year anniversary of Beauty Professor and (2) my birthday...I guess celebrating can indeed happen on a Monday ; )

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the Natasha Denona Glowing Skin System in action as well as the Bottom Line...

natasha denona glowing skin system
Above: The Natasha Denona Glowing Skin System.
The *Natasha Denona Glowing Skin Systemconsists of five luxurious key products to impart the most natural luminosity to the face and body:
  1. Natasha Denona Lifting Primer Anti-Aging Serum (there are two other primers from which to choose, depending on one's skin type)
  2. Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation (12 shades in all)
  3. Natasha Denona Face Glow Cream Shimmer(in light, medium or dark)
  4. Natasha Denona  All Over Face and Body Shimmer Powder (in light, medium or dark)
  5. Natasha Denona Body Glow(in light, medium or dark)

(1) *Natasha Denona Lifting Primer Anti-Aging Serum: This velvety smooth serum acts as both a skincare component and a primer.  Smoothing one pump over the face blurs pores and fine lines, adds moisture and gives me a demi-matte finish that increases the longevity of my foundation.

Official details

The Lifting Primer Anti-Aging Serum is the perfect preparation for all skin types before application of foundation. It increases the lasting power of foundation and will give your skin a semi-matte finish, while hydrating at the same time.

This fluid primer smoothes out wrinkles and pores and is perfect for mature skin, giving a hydrating and lifting effect.

Tips for Use: Smooth product over the skin with fingertips and massage in until absorbed. It can be used on its own before application of foundation or as a step between moisturizer and foundation.
If you're not applying foundation, you may use this product as a serum before applying your moisturizer.

30 ml / 1.01 fl oz

natasha denona lifting primer swatch
Above: A swatch of Natasha Denona Lifting Primer Anti-Aging Serum in direct sunlight.
Above: The Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation in 30 Light-Medium and 42 Medium.
(2) *Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation: Because this foundation comes in 12 shades, I wasn't sure if I was the Light-Medium 30 (for light-medium skin with yellow undertones) or Medium (a medium beige with yellow/golden undertones); consequently, I got both and I am glad I did!  Currently, I mix a touch of 42 in with a full pump of 30 to get the perfect NC 25-27 match.  If you are NC 23-25, you should be fine with shade 30 but if you are a hair darker, then a mix of the two would be a befitting solution.

In terms of formula, this feels unlike any foundation I've encountered to date (and I have tried a lot of foundations).  The creamy-meets-liquid feels a tad bouncy and extremely smooth but not "silicony" or overly slippery.  I prefer to blend it into my skin with dampened Beauty Blender and note that the foundation feels a touch tacky (but not sticky) during the blending process but it dries down to set on its own (I don't use setting powder with this) within a couple of minutes.  I get instant medium coverage that looks like beautiful, slightly dewy skin and love the fact that it can be built up to full coverage, should that be required, without looking conspicuous.

The finish of this formula is simply sublime.  Luminous and radiant, the canvas looks healthy and glowy rather than shimmery and glittery.  I get a respectable 7-8 hours of wear time without feeling the need to touch up and over the course of wear, my skin feels comfortable (like it can breathe) and balanced.

All in all, this is a truly amazing option for those seeking medium coverage and a natural, dewy skin finish without garish shimmer!

Official details:

The Face Glow Foundation is Natasha's choice of base for a glowing, glammed-up look.

This lightweight foundation protects the skin with an SPF of 15 and has brilliant staying power, making it perfect for all day wear or for a night-out. Its hydrating formula is suitable for all skin types and will leave your skin with an even, flawless, natural finish look.

(3) *Natasha Denona Face Glow Cream Shimmer: I received this gem in the shade Light and think that this tone would work for a spectrum of skintones because it is so sheer and gossamer-light that opacity isn't an issue.  A pearly champagne, this creamy shimmer stick glides over the skin with ease and reflects light without being obvious.  I like to sweep this across my upper cheekbones, brow bones and down the bridge of my nose for a lit from within effect.

Official details:

The Face Glow Cream Shimmer is the basic product for highlighting and glamming up the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and lips, for a healthy glowing red-carpet look.

This cream shimmer in stick form is perfect for a fresh and glowing look. Its iridescent composition becomes homogenous with the natural texture of the skin, without cakeyness occurring and is suitable for all skin types.

25 ml / 0.84 fl oz

(4) *Natasha Denona Body Glow: For limbs that look lithe, lush and radiant, this resplendent formula is the answer.  One pump, buffed into skin (I focus application on the collar bone, decollete, tops of arms and shin bones of legs) delivers depth and dimension as well as a skin-perfecting veil that doesn't look artificial.  Due to the winter weather, I haven't had the opportunity to test its waterproof, sweatproof nature but look forward to doing so when the temperatures rise again.

Official details:

This particular product was developed on the basis of a secret mixture of different products that Natasha used to prepare for her clients', models' and celebrities' bodies, on photo shoots or events, for a no-glitter and healthy glowing skin effect. With Europe's top chemists, she turned her secret mixture into a one-formula product.

The Body Glow has a light, fresh and fluid consistency that is easy to apply all over the body for a radiant glow. Its formula is quick-drying, non-sticky, and resistant to water and sweat, making it suitable for any occasion.

(5) *Natasha Denona  All Over Face and Body Shimmer Powder: Ultra finely-milled and whisper-light, this powder adds an extra punch of glow wherever you deem it necessary.  It works beautifully on both the face and body and, due to its subtle sheen, simply cannot be over applied.  It's like pure light in a powder compact!
Above: A close up of the Natasha Denona All Over Glow Powder.
Official details:

The All Over Glow is a hydrating shimmer, in powder form, that gives a glowing and healthy texture to the skin. This product may be applied to both face and body, and is ideal for creating that perfect Hollywood look. It has long last performance and ensures that the skin is left with a gentle shimmer and glowing finish for hours.

For best results, Natasha recommends applying the All Over Glow over her Face Glow Cream Shimmer.

In addition to the Natasha Denona Face Glow Foundation, Face Glow Cream Shimmer
All Over Face and Body Shimmer Powderand Body Glow, in the images that follow I am also wearing the:
  • *Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze (reviewed HERE): The obvious use in the image above is a testament to how much I love this bronzer.
  • Viseart Blush in Angora (reviewed HERE): This subtle purple grey somehow brightens cheeks in mysteriously flattering ways.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in Dolce Vita (also available at Beautylish): Since picking this up on a whim a couple weeks ago, I have been grabbing for this quad constantly.  The pearly beige makes for a lovely base and browbone shade, the warm burgundy is a stunning all over wash of color, the extra sparkly gold is absolutely incredible and the muted khaki green is ever so wearable.  This might be the first quad I've owned in awhile where all shades get used equally!
  • *Estee Lauder Sumtuous Knockout Mascara: This latest formula from Estee Lauder creates lush, long and jet black lashes in two coats...I'm very impressed.
  • Christian Louboutin Lip Definer in Nats (also available at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom and reviewed HERE): A permanent fixture in my handbag, this stunning, self-sharpening pinky nude lip liner pairs so well with nudes and pinks.  Practically waterproof, it goes on creamy and stays in place for hours without drying out the lips.
  • MAC x Ellie Goulding Lipstick in Only You: I am so glad (and extremely surprised) that this limited-edition pinky coral nude Creamsheen lipstick is still in stock!  It has gorgeous pigmentation and feels hydrating and lush on the lips...a must for pinky nude lip lovers.
  • Ela Rae Libi Stone Choker: This comely choker was a recent Christmas gift; delicately-crafted let entirely wearable on a daily basis, I love layering this with my other gold necklaces for a pop of color.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this comprehensive overview of the Natasha Denona Glowing Skin System.  I love how beautifully the products work together in harmony to create a believable radiance.  If you are not ready to commit to the entire system quite yet, then I highly recommend starting with the Face Glow Foundation and Face Glow Cream Shimmer Cream as both are gorgeous integrations into one's existing beauty routine.

Good things ahead, including my 2015 Skincare and Beauty Favorites Video (worth the wait, I promise!), another foundation-centric feature (so many good releases lately) and an accessories close-up.

A Radiant Debut: The Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation

The Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation is now available!
Earlier in the history of Beauty Professor, I remember being over the moon with joy when I happened upon Neiman Marcus the very day that the original Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation (reviewed HERE) was released.  Up to that point, there hadn't been a foundation release quite like it in terms of packaging (sleek glass with a dropper), formula (weightless and buildable) and finish (practically invisible, simply like really good skin).  Consequently, I promptly swatched every shade and offered a glowing comprehensive review to my readers.  Since that day, nearly four years ago, that singular post has been viewed over 40,000 times!

It is with great joy that I announce that today's post features the latest incarnation of the Giorgio Armani Maestro formula: the breathtakingly beautiful Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup Bi-Phase Elixir SPF 30.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the Maestro Glow in action as well as the Bottom Line...

giorgio armani maestro glow foundation swatches
    Maestro Glow shade 5.5.
The *Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup Bi-Phase Elixir SPF 30 (also available at for pre-order at Barney's NY) is truly a uniquely beautiful product. I am so excited that this formula is finally available as I have been testing it for the past month.

Neither oily nor slippery, this formula makes my skin look even, healthy and perfected while feeling comfortable for hours.
I get instant medium coverage from a single application--four drops applied and blended on the forehead, both cheeks and chin--and prefer to add a touch of concealer, rather than an increased amount of foundation, on areas of the face that may require reinforcements.  I have experimented with applying this with my fingers and a Beauty Blender and both methods are effective for a seamless result.  The original Maestro formula gives me light to medium coverage, causing me to conclude that the Glow formula offers a touch more initial coverage overall.

The foundation comes in nine shades:

    • 00
    • 02
    • 04
    • 05
    • 5.5
    • 6.25
    • 07
    • 08
    • 11.75

Shade 5.5 is a perfect match for my NC 25 skin; although the shade is a touch more neutral than some of my more yellow-undertoned bases, I find that it blends seamlessly and does not oxidize, even during a long and warm/sunny day.  I am sure that by late spring and certainly by summertime, however, I could easily bump to the 6.25.
The lasting power is impressive; when applied with fingers or even a Beauty Blender, I get 5-6 hours of touch up free wear time, which is exemplary for a luminous foundation.

All in all, I am dramatically impressed and abundantly pleased with the Maestro Glow formula; it is easy to apply, feels light and airy on the skin, blurs pores and fine lines, all the while offering a veil of weightless, skintone-evening perfection.  The wait for this brand new, medium-coverage, luxuriously-luminous Maestro foundation has been well worth it...it is radiantly divine!
giorgio armani maestro glow foundation swatches
The Maestro Glow comes in frosted glass bottle with a dropper for precise control when dispensing the formula.  I only a dropper full to give glowy, medium coverage to my entire face.

    • Ferragamo Silk Scarf (also available at Neiman Marcus, Farfetch, Luisaviaroma and Bergdorf Goodman):  I have a penchant for collecting Ferragamo silk scarfs (simply the best, in my opinion) and this giraffe version, courtesy of my brother, is my latest addition.  I keep this scarf in my purse at all times and find that it comes in handy as an impromptu belt, hair accessory and warmth generator (as worn in the image below).  The silk is dense and luxurious and the patterns that Ferragamo boasts are transcendently lovely...such a worthy investment!
    • Henri Bendel cuff: This rose gold and garnet number works well with my "mixed metal" approach and though this exact model is sold out, there are a variety of brand new Henri Bendel cuffs for spring that you may want to take a peek at.  Timeless and well-crafted, I am never disappointed with my Henri Bendel pieces.
    • Carner Barcelona Voyage Set Tardes + Rima XI: Featuring two travel-sized fragrances in a pristine white box, this set from niche Spanish perfume house Carner Barcelona is stunning.  Tardes captures the sun-baked relaxation of a warm summer afternoon while Rima XI is a soft and slightly spicy musk blend that feels sophisticated and chic. You can also find Carner Barcelona on Amazon
    • Girlactik Face Glow in Lustre (reviewed HERE): Radiance in the most delicate rosy lilac tone can be achieved with this beauty from Girlactik.  I use it on the high points of my face to create ethereal luminosity rather than a glittery effect.  The sheen is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful!
    • Ela Rae Stone Choker: Intricate and handcrated, this adjustable choker features semi-precious stones for a gorgeous pop of color.  Rarely a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, I prefer to layer mine with other favorite chokers (see below) for an eclectic effect.
    • RMS Nail Lacquer in Luminizer (reviewed HERE):  One of my favorite nail polishes of all time (and I am not much of a "nail girl"), this pearlescent lacquer perfects nails in a single coat, making them look clean, bright and polished while still being entirely low-maintenance.
A Ferragamo scarf is like artwork for the neck.
Wearing my latest Ferragamo to keep warm over the weekend...lip color is Tom Ford Jude.

The Carner Barcelona set includes two fragrances...I love wearing the breezy Tardes in the day and adding an alluring twist to the evening with Rima XI.

Henri Bendel cuff (top) + Ela Rae choker (bottom).
Henri Bendel cuffs are a staple in my routine.

An extremely utilitarian makeup storage option.
MAKEUP STORAGE // I recently had the opportunity to try the *MelodySusie Large Cosmetics Organizer.  This multi-tiered acrylic box features four drawers and a removable top tray for a spectrum of organizational options.

The drawers open smoothly and are deep enough to hold beauty products of all sizes.  Although I have dozens of acrylic boxes in my house to store my collection, this singular box now successfully houses all of my makeup "go-to's" that I reach for each morning when getting ready before work.

Sturdy and well-made, I am seriously thinking about adding a couple more of these to my organizational menagerie...they are that good!

    Official details:

    • MelodySusie new collection luxurious cosmetics organizer - a new and fashionable beauty box with high quality
    • Made of durable clear acrylic, easy to clean and high transparent allows users to find what you need
    • Removable black mesh padding keeps jewelry protected and in place
    • Please see the detailed dimensions showed on images. And please note all accessories are not included
    • Large Capacity Organizer with 4 Drawers Storage Box and 3 Pieces Set can perfectly collect almost all your cosmetics, jewelry, watches, nail polishes and even your mobile phone. The total 24 separated compartments, ranging in different sizes for a variety of use

The drawers have removable mats to keep drawers clean and products secure.
    A tiered approach.
The drawers open easily and are deep enough to hold a host of products.
The top tray is removable, creating more room for stacking.

This organizer is a fantastic addition to my bathroom makeup storage.

A FAVORITE OUTFIT // When it comes to style, I am generally a creature of habit...jeans, button downs and comfortable shoes with a bit of height...here is a breakdown of one of my recent favorites (makeup details follow), worn during a 12 hour day at Disneyland:
    • Polo Ralph Lauren Astor Slim Boyfriend Jeans: Slim yet loose, these hit the ankle at a perfectly casual level and work just as well with heels just as with tennis shoes.
    • Equipment Slim Signature Shirt in Whisper: I have well over 20 of these blouses, thereby making them heavy hitters in my wardrobe.  I love having a collar peek over a crewneck sweater for a classic look.
    • Topshop Girly Crewneck Sweater (also worn HERE): I wear this camel color sweater constantly...it's thin yet warm and feels complete timeless.
    • Nike Dunk Ski Hi 2 in Sequoia: These deep olive green trainers feature a hidden wedge and versatile color scheme for an ultra-comfortable and endlessly wearable pair of shoes.  You can walk miles in these gems without the slightest sense of foot fatigue...brilliant!

    Key makeup details include:

I am immensely pleased that these Nike Dunk Sky Hi 2's are not sold out yet...I wholeheartedly recommend them so much that I think I will also be picking these up in black.

What do you find endlessly fascinating? For me, one of the most riveting things to do is to take a peek inside someone's cosmetics bag!  There is just something so captivating about exploring a personally-curated collection of essentials...I generally learn more about the person and am inspired by the discovery of new beauty products.  I am excited to share a video that offers a glimpse into my own makeup bag; I hope you find it intriguing!

Kindly scroll on for the video, a full product breakdown and a host of images as well as the Bottom Line...

Cosmetics Bag Close Up: As mentioned in the video, I picked up this Saint Laurent makeup bag from Italian online retailer Luisaviaroma, which specializes in a plethroa of luxury goods.  The stunning jet black leather is soft yet sturdy (love the flat bottom--it stands upright on its own) and the gold zipper pull features the iconic interlocking "YSL" and tassel for immediate chic.  It is large enough to comfortably fit all of my "must-haves" yet small enough to fit comfortably in a handbag.  Simply beautiful!

The pouch comes in an opulent dust bag (lined for additional protection).
Sleek YSL zipper pull and tassel for added flair.
The inside features a large main compartment and small side compartment for eyeliner, lipliner and small brushes.
    Standing on its own.

Quick Glance: 3 New Releases from Dior, Becca and Hourglass Cosmetics

    Beauty newness.
This past 3-day weekend was a blur!  Between two days spent at IMATS LA and a day at home shooting an insane array of new beauty products, I, for one, could do with one more day before heading back to work.  That being said, I am thrilled to offer extremely brief overviews of 3 new beauty releases from Dior, Becca and Hourglass Cosmetics!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action...

dior addict lip glow liner swatches
One of the most unique lip liners on the market.
    (1) Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner:  This fascinating incarnation of the cult-favorite Dior Lip Glow gently plumps the lip line while subtly enhancing the inherent tone of one's lips.  Applied along the perimeter of the lips, this liner offers a gorgeous infusion of color (it turns a mid-toned baby pink on me) that creates a "my lips but better" result that I am, dare I say, addicted to.  I look forward to  pairing this with nude lip color in the coming days...in the meanwhile, I am completely content to wear it alone for an ultra natural look.

dior addict lip glow liner swatches
The Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner has an angled tip for precise application.
    Official details, courtesy of Sephora:

    What it is:
A Dior lip liner that instantly delivers a long-wearing, custom filler effect and rosy tint for a pro makeup look.

    What it does:
Boost the contour of your lips with Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner. Its ultrasoft, retractable beveled tip hugs the lip contour for easy, precise application. Formulated with Dior’s own "Color Reviver”, it boosts the natural shade of your lip line, while its "Volume Booster" technology smooths, defines, and fills in the lip contour.

What else you need to know:
The universal shade of Dior Addict Lip Glow Liner can be layered with any lipstick or gloss for a long-lasting, defined lip contour. It’s perfect for pairing with Dior Addict Lip Glow Pomade and Dior Addict Lip Glow (sold separately) for smooth, rosy lips and a natural lip look.

    becca aqua luminous perfecting foundation
The Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation comes in a glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the formula.
    (2) Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation in Beige: Ever since seeing posts of this new formula on social media, I knew I would eventually be purchasing this on a whim. #foundationphile

Incredibly light and buildable, this fragrance-free foundation comes in 8 shades (equipped with adapting technology so most skin tones should be covered) and I found an absolutely befitting match in the Beige shade, which is @NC 25-27.  In my experience, one full pump yields medium coverage with a satin-matte finish that looks nearly invisible on the skin (while impressively banishing uneven areas and the look of pores).  I currently get 6-7 hours of touch up free wear time and am very pleased with this foundation thus far.  A more comprehensive review to come!
    becca aqua luminous perfecting foundation

    Official details, courtesy of Sephora:

    What it is:
A light, buildable foundation that imparts subtle luminosity with a weightless feel.

    What it does:
Smooth on foundation coverage that feels ultra-light and buildable, while it evens and perfects your complexion. Every weightless drop of fluid imparts subtle luminosity that blurs imperfections and leaves a soft-focused glow. The foundation features a curated array of eight flexible shades that flatter all skintones.

hourglass ambient strobe lighting powder swatches
The  new Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder comes in 4 shades with warm (Brilliant and Euphoric) and cool (Incandescent and Iridescent) undertones.
    (3) *Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder (also available at Nordstrom): I am over the moon for this new release from one of my favorite beauty brands.  These four strobing powders, which are designed to impart an ethereal glow rather than an obvious metallic shimmer, take the act of highlighting to the next level.

Classic and restrained, this powder formula is nothing short than what I've come to expect from the chic and minimalist Hourglass line.  I prefer to sweep them across the high points of my face and down the bridge of my nose for a luminous finish that is nearly invisible to the naked eye; skin merely looks bathed in a wash of flattering light...I can't wait to continue to experiment with all four!

    Shade Descriptions (per my experience):
    • Brilliant: A soft gold
    • Euphoric: A warm champagne bronze
    • Incandescent: A pale baby pink
    • Iridescent: A muted rose gold

As soon as the sun makes an appearance in full force (it's been relatively gloomy here as of late), I will be doing a follow up post with additional swatches and action shots so that the full resplendence of these powders can be accurately conveyed!

     Swatches in direct sunlight.
    Official details, courtesy of Sephora:

    What it is:
A collection of illuminating strobing powders designed to sculpt the face with light, creating depth and dimension for a refined, natural-looking highlight.

    What it does:
Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powders are formulated in a sheer base that’s infused with concentrated, ultra-fine mico-pearl particles in a number of sizes and refraction levels for natural-looking luminescence—without leaving a heavy metallic finish. Developed with Photoluminescent Technology it captures, diffuses, and softens surrounding light to refine the appearance of the skin. Use it wet or dry for different levels of intensity, taking you from an everyday strobe highlight to a dramatic evening strobe highlight. These universally flattering shades are perfect for all skintones, and they’re designed to be used with the Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor (sold separately) for the most effortless application.

    What it is formulated WITHOUT:
    - Parabens

What else you need to know:
Designed to emulate the way in which strobe lights capture and reflect light on the face, Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powders contain a more concentrated level of micro-pearl particles in varying sizes and refraction levels than the original Ambient Lighting Powders. Combined with a sheerer base, the powders impart a highlight to the face in its purest form without masking the skin beneath it.

"Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders give off the most amazing glow to your skin without being overpowering. I love using it with the Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor when I want a more reflective highlight."—Carisa Janes, Hourglass Founder

    Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes.
Earlier this month, I offered a brief overview of the stunning Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes (also available at Barney's NY) with promises of swatches of full shade spectrum forthcoming.  Ever a woman of my word, I am excited to offer you an image and swatch-heavy feature of these gems!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of Prismatique Eyes in action as well as the Bottom Line...
    surratt prismatique eyes swatches

The Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes (also available at Barney's NY) is utter genius. The compact jewelbox contains a rich cream shadow and the swivel out bottom houses an insanely luminous coordinating powder shadow; it's essentially a luxurious "twin set" capable of creating a full eye in seconds.

The cream is ultra-pigmented yet weightless, gliding over the lids with ease without imparting telltale texture.  One sweep of the finely-milled prismatic eye shadow adds immense dimension and incandescence for an almost "wet" look that stays in place for hours without creasing or migrating.

From a pragmatic perspective, the cream pigment is sublimely smooth, making an excellent base for the radiant powder shadow and the eyeshadow, while undeniably reflective, imparts more of a sophisticated sheen rather than a glitter party.

All in all, this formula is an absolute must for those who seek a radiant satin look that effortlessly embodies the best of both worlds--cream and powder eyeshadow--without compromising on texture and longevity.

    Official details, courtesy of Sephora:

    What it is:
A twinset eye shadow palette within a jewelry box container, filled with complimentary matte cream and prismatic, shimmer shadows coupled in a double-deck section for mesmerizing eye looks.

    What it does:
Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes eye shadow sets feature cream shadow that can be blended onto lids and then dusted with a prismatic shimmering top coat for a multidimensional, glittering eye look. The top tier contains a water-proof shadow base that can be blended onto lids or used as liner. The lower deck swings out to reveal a prismatic top coat that can be swept on and blended to give eyes a celestial look.

    This set contains:
    - 0.07 oz Cream Shadow
    - 0.05 oz Powder Shadow

    What it is formulated WITHOUT:
    - Parabens
    - Sulfates
    - Phthalates

What else you need to know:
"I like to use the Surratt Moyenne Classique Shadow brush to blend the crème into the lash line and up onto the lid, keeping the lash line rich and saturated while diffusing softly around the edges. Then, using the Surratt Moyenne Smokey Eye Brush, dust over the lid with the complimentary twinkling twin shadow."—Troy Surratt

Bottom Line: The Surratt Beauty Prismatique Eyes (also available at Barney's NY) are breathtaking on every level and I hope you found this swatch-saturated story helpful.  Neutral Eyes and Real Eyes are permanent fixtures in my handbag as of late and their ability to create an entire eye look in mere moments works well during my oft-rushed mornings. Which Prismatique Eyes shades have caught YOUR eye?

Good things ahead, including a host of new product procurements and a special event announcement!  I am also still working through email and comment replies...thanks for your patience during this busy week ; )

Kindly scroll on for more details, a host of images and swatches from some hotly-anticipated Natasha Denona palettes as well as the Bottom Line...

Each year, IMATS LA takes place at the Pasedena Convention Center.  With ample space and an array of meeting rooms for seminars and demonstrations, this is the perfect place to imbibe in all things beauty.

Before we proceed with the flood of images from the weekend, here is an overview of the makeup (and shoes!) I embraced for the day...each product was selected due to their effective performance and ability to hold up for hours on end:

The following images reflect all products in action, right before heading to IMATS on Sunday!

    --Shop the Look--

With the kind, generous and gifted MustaeV team...David Kang and Angela Wilson.
The Pro Night, which is reserved for Pro-Card holders and guests of vendors, is an intimate time to explore the IMATS booth in an exclusory environment, devoid of the usual crowds of the weekend.  We were so thankful to be invited as guests of MustaeV USA (reviewed HERE and HERE); this gave us the chance to catch up and also get a sneak peek at some of the exciting releases for 2016.

I am excited to announce that the gorgeous Skinny Tint Foundation (reviewed HERE) will be debuting additional shades to cater to darker skin tones...this is an absolute precedent in Korean beauty lines and I am thrilled that even more individuals will be able to find their match is this cutting-edge formula

During the Pro Night, I also had the opportunity to meet the extremely warm and uber-talented Natasha Denona (Glowing Skin System reviewed HERE), whose glorious line made its stateside debut at IMATS; it is now exclusively available at Beautylish.  Directly following our meeting, Laura and I were honored to attend an intimate dinner party (with fellow blogging buddies Sabrina of The Beauty Look Book and Rae of The Raeviewer) to celebrate her partnership with Beautylish.  I am duly smitten with her foundation and highlighters and now am equally entranced with her insanely pigmented, ultra-velvety eyeshadows.  Arriving at Beautylish later on this month, sign up for EARLY ACCESS to experience the wonder of her palettes!

With Natasha Denona at the Beautylish booth...I also picked up some of her lip glazes, which are color-saturated and delightfully unsticky...full profile soon.
The following is a close up of the *Natasha Denona Palette 28, which houses 28 matte, pearl, satin and velvet eyeshadows in the vast green and brown family...truly, this palette is a masterpiece of epic proportions and I have a detailed FOTD featuring some of my favorite shades in action, slated to go live next week.
The palette comes in a glossy white case with an enormous mirror.

I caught up with dear friend and makeup artist Satya Linak at the April Love Pro Makeup Academy booth and got to meet famed makeup artist and GlossiGirl creator Stephen Dimmick,  His six lip color capsule collection (incidentally modeled by Satya) features a vegan, cruelty-free formula and some seriously sublime pigmentation...I'll be sharing closeups of the nude Pushup and lush Pinky soon.
    Hakuhodo brushes...always a must stop.
Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Beverly Hills...she gave her full attention to each eager customer, which I found entirely admirable.

IMATS LA had so many vendors this year that an additional building was utlilized; Hall 3 housed well over 20 lines including MustaeV, Sugar Pill and Dose of Color.
    Vibrancy from Dose of Color.
Need to organize?  Check out Cosmo Cube.
We ended the day with an annual dinner (including fried ice cream) at El Cholo.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this overview of IMATS LA; as always, we had a marvelous time seeing the newest launches and commisserating with like-minded makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts.  If you'd like to attend, do take note that IMATS New York is coming up in April, IMATS London arrives in June and IMATS Vancouver takes place in July!

Also, don't forget to register for early access to the Natasha Denona eyeshadows...Beautylish has assured me that they should be available by the end of this month ; )

Good things ahead, including a FOTD rife with new launches (and a favorite pair of cold-weather boots), a swatch heavy feature and a host of product procurements; I am also working my way through responding to your latest round of lovely comments and emails!

FOTD Newness: CdPB Cream Shadow, Hourglass Strobing Powder, La Prairie Lotus Glow + a Major Pair of Winter Boots

I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!  I am excited to share a fresh FOTD, rife with new products from Clé de Peau Beauté, Hourglass Cosmetics and La Prairie; I also included an incredible boot discovery, entirely apropos for the current winter weather.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
cle de peau cream color eyeshadow swatches
Clé de Peau Beauté Cream Color Eyeshadow in Pony, Bear and Sequin.
Clé de Peau Beauté just released their Cream Color Eyeshadow and I couldn't help but pick it up in a few shades that are befitting transitions from winter to spring.  Extra silky and delightfully pigmented, the lush formula creates a soft veil of color that stays in place all day without creasing.
cle de peau cream color eyeshadow swatches
The CdPB Cream Shadow comes with a dual brush/sponge applicator that resides within its own plastic pouch for safekeeping on one's makeup bag...brilliant!
cle de peau cream color eyeshadow swatches
Clockwise from top left: Bear, Sequin and Pony.
This new formula comes in five sophisticated shades:

    • 301 Bear: A deep maroon with a satin finish--rich and elegant yet still lovely for everyday.
    • 302 Tutu: A creamy pale pink--perfectly cool undertones for rosy toned skin.
    • 303 Balloon: A shimmering silver baby blue--ethereally beautiful and fresh.
    • 304 Pony: A pale, luminous taupe nude--an excellent neutral wash of color.
    • 305 Sequin: A matte apricot beige flesh tone--muted on its own, this shade plays well with others and also works as a lovely base for deeper tones.
I chose Bear (I cannot say not to maroon on the eyes), Pony and Sequin as the warmest neutrals of the quintet and couldn't be more pleased.  Even with the generally satin finish, these are more understated and less shimmery than the Burberry Cream Eye Color.  The color can be applied sheerly or built up to nearly full opacity and looks nearly textureless on the eyes (it's very light for a cream), mitigating the potential for creasing or migrating over the course of wear.

All in all, this is a gorgeous installment from Clé de Peau Beauté and I highly recommend it to those who have a propensity for cream formulas with a muted satin finish...magnifique!

This luxuriously smooth, dewy creamy eyeshadow transforms into a silky powder and melts into your skin for exquisitely defined eyes with captivating color.

How to use: Use a brush or your finger to blend over your eyelids. The product can be applied as an eyeliner or on the lower eyelids by using a narrow applicator.

Just in time for spring...the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Powder
Next, as soon as the rain of last week cleared for some sunshine, I raced outside to capture additional images of the gorgeous *Hourglass Ambient Strobe Powder (initially discussed HERE).  This powder was born to coexist with sunlight, for their relationship is a symbiotic one!

I cannot stress the finely-milled nature of this powder enough; it feels entirely weightless one the skin and, instead of creating a shimmery effect, it cloaks one's countenance in a gossamer veil of light that perfects while maintaining the natural essence of bare skin.

Extremely subtle, I am apt to believe that these powders cannot be overapplied...I have been enjoying wearing Iridescent on my upper cheekbones and over (or even under) cream blush for a lit-from-within look that lasts all day.  I can't wait to continue experimenting with this formula and plan on working them into an upcoming video as well...stay tuned!

Finally, I am over the moon to be able to share my love affair with the freshly-released, limited-edition *La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Lotus Glow (also available at Neiman Marcus, Saks and Bloomingdales).  My affinity for this opulent formula has not been a secret here at BP (Peach Glow and Plum Glow are staples) and this latest shade installment is just as entrancing!

Best described as a glowing raspberry, this color-saturated shade looks stunningly bright in the pan; just a touch to the apples of the cheeks, however, is all that is necessary to impart the quintessential aprés ski look.  In light of how often I gravitate towards pale pinky peach blushes, I cannot get over how much I adore this shade...it simply brings a healthy life to the face and its neutral undertones ensure that it will work well to compliment a spectrum of skin tones.  If you haven't yet tried this exemplary formula, I implore you to consider starting with the limited-edition wonder

I also recently picked up the Becca Shadow + Light Brow Contour Mousse in Cocoa...the darker side has a creamy texture that works well to fill in and polish brows while the luminous pink highighter accentuates brow bones while still looking natural.

In the images that follow, I am wearing:
    • Kjaer Weis Foundation in Just Sheer (reviewed HERE): Buffed on with a damp beauty blender, this creamy, ultra-clean foundation offers medium to full coverage...I've been reaching for this a lot lately.
    • *Edward Bess Undo Time in Medium (coming soon!): Deemed a "skin perfecter," this formula is highly concentrated, making it the perfect way to banish under eye darkness and any unevenness...oh, and it smoooths skin like nothing else.
    • Tom Ford Moodlight...darker shade worn as bronzer (reviewed HERE): Still getting plenty of use from this summertime investment.  Now that I am a bit more pale, the darker side works perfectly as a light, radiant bronzer.
    • Hourglass Ambient Strobe Powder in Iridescent (also discussed HERE): Applied along the upper cheekbone, this shade creates a subtle glow that doesn't look like "highlighter," just softly luminous skin.
    • La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Lotus Glow: I like to apply this by patting my ring fingertip into the blush and tapping it on the apples of the cheeks.  As aforementioned, the result is sublimely pretty adn little goes a long way...I'll have this blush for ages!
    • Clé de Peau Beauté Cream Color Eyeshadow in Bear and Pony: I first applied Pony across my entire upper lid as a shimmering taupe base and then followed with a generous blending of Bear, focusing on the crease and working upwards.  I also swept a bit of a mixture or the two shades along my lower lashline.
    • Becca Shadow and Light Brow Contour in Cocoa: I used a small angled brush to apply the light brown shade into my brows to add definition and volume.  I then used my pinky to sweet a touch of the pink shade just along my browbone for subtle accent.
    • Surratt Beauty Brow Pomade (reviewed HERE): The most magnificent finishing touch for brows, this clear gel keeps everything in place without feeling stiff. It's a staple in my makeup bag.
    • Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara (reviewed HERE): I have been loving the jet-black, instant volume and lengthening abilities of this mascara lately.  Believe the hype on this one!
    • Gucci Lipstick in Whisper (reviewed HERE): One of my favorite Gucci Beauty products ever, this creamy, full coverage, hydrating and long lasting mauvy pink never disappoints.  I have used up half of the bullet and may need to invest in a new one soon.

Let's conclude with the boots!  Although we haven't been experiencing snowy winter weather in Southern California, I originally purchased these chic Sorel Joan of Arctic boots for my trip to NYC back in November.  The surprisingly temperate climate at the time didn't necessitate me to wear them but the rain of El Nino back home has given me a chance to reach for these waterproof darlings frequently as of late.

Constructed in super soft leather, these boots have a hidden wedge that provides a couple of inches of height while remaining incredibly comfortable.  Prior to ordering, I was stunned by the host of consistently positive reviews and now am happy to confirm that I am amongst those impressed with this pair.  Even after wearing them for hours, my feet feel perfectly comfortable; I daresay that they may be the most comfortable boots of this nature that I've owned to date and the fact that they are excellent companions for inclimate winter weather makes them a wholly worthwhile investment!

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this new product-laden FOTD and would love to hear your thoughts on the fresh releases!  What has caught YOUR eye?

Good things ahead, including a Natasha Denona feature, a foundation close up and a myriad of new product procurements (including the Spring'16 Tom Ford Eye Color Quads)! Also, it is currently finals week at one of my campuses and the start of the new semester at another...consequently, I am fielding your lovely emails and comments as quickly as humanly possible ; )

Oh, and a major happy birthday to my beloved husband (who, incidentally, took some of the pictures toward the end of this post)...January 26th will forever be a special day in my heart...so glad he was born!

    0

I was first introduced to the Omorovicza line (also available at Beautylish and Nordstrom and Omorovicza) a few years ago; since then, I've tried the many releases from this exquisite Hungarian brand and have integrated a variety of key products into my skincare routine (previous reviews HERE, HERE and HERE).  Today, I am thrilled to offer a closer look at some strategic selections in the Gold Collection...with solutions that target dehydrated skin that yearns for a refreshed glow, this range of products perfectly balences luxury with efficacy!

Kindly scroll on for more details as well as a chance--exclusive for Beauty Professor readers-- to win all four products; specifics on the giveway are discussed in the Bottom Line...

I am certainly a gold lover; from radiant necklaces to tri-color vintage rings, to say nothing of the Cartier Love Bracelet which has been on my wrist--nonstop--for nearly eight years, if there is a way to find gold, I'll find it.  Consequently, imagine my wonder when I discovered that Omorovicza has found a way to harness the anti-inflammatory properties of gold and infuse it into its premiere skincare!
My recent daily indulgence for luminosity and radiance.

Although there are seven products in the Omorovicza Gold Collection, this post will focus specifically on four; from masking excellence to treatment for the delicate orbital area, this quartet has your face covered, literally and figuratively ; )

The *Gold Hydralifting Mask (also reviewed HERE) is a brilliant option for when skin needs an extra infusion of hydration and .  I have been reaching for this frequently, especially in light of the excessively cool and dry winter weather we've been experiencing as of late.  Upon cleansing, I like to apply a generous layer of this silky mask and let it penetrate deep into my thirsty skin. Rich and decadent, this maks feels more like an opulent moisturizer than a traditional mask; consequently, after 10 minutes, the excess can simply be wiped away, leaving no need to rinse.  My skin is left firmer, smoother, more balanced and visibly hydrated!

The *Omorovicza Gold Night Drops are new to my routine.  Upon cleansing and toning, I have been buffing a few drops of this gleaming elixir into my skin right before bed.  Even if I don't get as much sleep as I'd prefer (when do I ever?), I am impressed by the fact that I wake up with firmer, brighter, more rested looking skin that I should.  I appreciate the fact that the technology behind this serum takes advantage of the skin's heightened ability to repair itself while in slumber and I am a walking testament to the fact that this indeed is possible!

    Official details, courtesy of Omorovicza:

This rich and powerful anti-aging treatment harnesses the anti-inflammatory properties of gold to repair, contour and lift skin overnight.

The *Gold Flash Firming Serum is a resplendent delight; although it gleams like Midas in the bottle, don't let the flecks of light mislead you.  This is not a shimmer serum!  In fact, the light-reflecting particles disappear completely upon contact with the skin, imparting a subtle radiance that looks healthy and glowing, not glittery.  On a cellular level, the serum works to moisturize, balance and strengthen skin, fortifying for the demands of the day.  I love how nourished and dewy (not oily) my skin looks and feels upon application and am equally impressed by how these qualities are sustained over the course of wear.  This is a stunning option for daily wear and a marvelous place to start when deciding on a foray into the Omorovicza Gold Collection.

    Official details, courtesy of Omorovicza:

In my experience, the efficacy of eye cream is the most difficult to calibrate.  Lauded with impressive reviews, however, I was optimistic about trying the *Gold Eye Lift.  As with any good oribital product, a little of this lush cream goes a long way; I prefer to pat it into the corners of my eyes with my ring finger, directing the product upwards for additional lift.  Remarkably (and I can only say this about a few eye products in my experience), it does not irritate my highly sensitive eyes (I wear contacts for severe myopia), absorbs instantly and plays well with makeup (no smearing or smudging as the day wears on).  Although I need to continue to use this for a few more weeks before weighing in on my complete experience, I am happy to report that I am loving it thus far.

    Official details, courtesy of Omorovicza:

This nourishing, anti-aging, gold eye cream reduces the appearance and depth of fine lines and wrinkles and renews elasticity. It also brightens tone and helps to reduce sun damage in the delicate eye contour.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Between the Sheets.
Happy first day of February!  Today, I am excited to share a first look at the latest lipstick release from Charlotte Tilbury: Matte Revolution Lipstick in Between the Sheets.  Named by fans of the brand, this lush rosy nude features a matte yet moisturizing formula and a breezily sensuous appeal.

Kindly scroll on for more details, comparison swatches and images of Between the Sheets in action as well as the Bottom Line...

    Between the Sheets.
The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution formula (extensively reviewed HERE) is decadently high performance; as aforementioned, the smooth, weightless texture coats lips in pigmented color, while impressively maintaining moisture levels over the course of wear.

Consequently, when I learned that Between the Sheets--one of two new releases named by Charlotte Tilbury fans--was on the cusp of debuting, I knew it had to be mine.  The formula is already one of my favorite mattes on the market and the fact that this particular shade is classified as a light rosy nude made it an uniquivocal pursuit.  I pre-ordered it last week and hoped it would be as effortlessly beautiful as it appeared on the Charlotte Tilbury site.

I am over the moon to confirm that it indeed is as stunning as expected!  This creamy, opaque rosy nude pink has impeccable pigmentation and sueded finish that maintains a matte look while still looking plush and healthy.  In terms of tone, it falls beautifully between the much lighter Miss Kensington and deeper, warmer Sexy Sienna (comparison swatches to follow), thereby securing its place in my lip color rotation.

In sum, it is a delightfully flattering neutral pink that is sure to flatter a spectrum of skintones!

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this overview of the gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Between the Sheets.  I, for one, am so glad that I decided to order it sight unseen.  If you love pigmented pinky nudes with a soft matte texture, then this could most certainly be the shade for you...do please share your thoughts!

Good things ahead, including the announcement of the winner of my Omorovicza Giveaway, a fresh foundation video, a skin cleansing feature and a host of new product procurements.

FOTD: Natasha Denona Greens, Giorgio Armani Whites + Diptyque Rosaviola

    $

Ever since officially debuting on Beautylish in late December, the Natasha Denona line has made an incredible impact on the US beauty industry.  This well-executed collection of products for face, eyes and lips features innovative shades and textures, coupled with immense quality and color payoff.  Already a fan of the Glowing Skin System (reviewed HERE), I was thrilled to be able to try her pigmented-saturated eye shadows, first in January at IMATS LA.

The Palette #28 Green-Brown has 28 shades of satin, matte and pearl shadows in various neutral and verdant green hues that compliment a spectrum of skin tones.  Today, I am excited to share a dedicated look that employs the use of four key shades in the palette, as well as newness from Giorgio Armani, Diptyque and Dr. Brandt!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...

From L-R: Sienna, Golden Flesh, Terracotta and Emerald Green.
At the end of January, the Natasha Denona Early Accessallowed fans of the line to order her eye shadows; as expected, the stock quickly sold out but I am happy to report that a new shipment should be available for order later on this month.  Consequently, if interested, you may want to sign up HERE so you can be notified about when the products can be accessed.

For the look that follows, I chose to combine three warm bronzes with a pop of green for a fresh take on a neutral eye:
    • 50M Sienna: I applied this lush neutral bronze all over the lid and blended outward.
    • 68M Golden Flesh: I added a touch of this lighter, warmer bronze to the center of the upper eye lid and swept a bit along my lower lash line for continuity.
    • 625 Terracotta: I focused this very warm matte bronze shade on the crease for additional definition.
    • 16M Emerald Green: This iridescent bright green has just enough depth to be completely wearable yet endlessly radiant.  I blended this at the center of my upper lid for a pop of color.
In sum, these shadows are rich, velvety and extraordinarily pigmented with smooth lasting power that simply does not crease...believe the hype!

**Swatches of the every shade of the Natasha Denona Eye Shadow Palettte #28 can be viewed  HERE
From bottom to top: Emerald, Terracotta, Golden Flesh and Sienna.
For lips, I applied a single coat of the Natasha Denona Lip Glaze...coming soon to Beautylish. Until last month, I had only caught glimpses of this pigmented, nonsticky formula on Instagram and was delighted to be able to pick up a few shades in person at IMATS LA.

Woodwash (swatched below) is a creamy, mid-to-dark rose-tinged nude with intense opacity and a lacquer-like finish.  I am so impressed by how a single coat behaves the way that a creamy lipstick might...full coverage and a lasting finish that is hydrating and delightfully shiny.  Once available, I highly recommend that my fellow nude lip lovers give this exemplary shade a try!

A swatch of Woodwash in direct sunlight.

Before anymore time passes, I had to include the beauty that are the latest Diptyque Rosaviola releases.  The Diptyque Rosaviola candlecomes housed in a frosted baby pink votive, emblazoned with a iconic Diptyque fabric patch.  The soft floral scent is gloriously rosy, emanating just the right amount of comforting sillage, even for larger space.

Equal parts sophisticated and grounded, the corresponding Diptyque Rosaviola Fragrance has an alluring rose top note that dries down to a sweet, nearly musky floral; it has magnificent lasting power and a seasonal appeal that must be experienced!
      A perfect Diptyque pairing.

Even though it has been quite chilly here in Southern California, the sun has been a fixture, consequently giving me the perfect time to experiment with the entirely weightless Giorgio Armani Maestro UV Skin Defense Primer.  A brand new release from the prolific yet minimalist Armani line, this fluid glides over skin with ease, yielding a smoother, more perfected canvas and noteworthy SPF 50 protection.  I cannot wait to continue to experiment with this formula as the UV index continues to rise with the impending arrival of spring.

      Official details, courtesy of Nordstrom:

Maestro UV is a new-generation makeup base that improves overall makeup results and prolongs wear while combating anti-aging enemies such as sun damage and pollution. Broad spectrum SPF 50 provides UVA/UVB filters that are completely transparent. These filters disperse onto the skin invisibly, absorbing rays and preventing them from reaching the skin. Targeted fillers blur imperfections and smooth the skin, creating a surface for an all-day impeccable makeup result.

How to use: Use the dropper applicator to add the amount needed to the back of your hand. Then, blend all over your face with your fingertips, moving from the center outward. Alternatively, you can also mix this with a cream and blend all over the face from the center outward. Wear it alone for a smooth, protected complexion on the days you're going makeup-free.

Additionally, I am wildly impressed with the Dr. Brandt 3-D Filler Mask. Initially, I thought it was just that: a mask.  Imagine my surprise when, upon reading the directions, I realized that it is intended to be applied towards the beginning of one's facial routine but doesn't need to be removed!  When using this creamy gel, I strategically targeted the fine lines on my forehead and around my mouth (too much smiling?), dabbing just a bit until it was fully absorbed.  I couldn't believe how rapidly my fine lines vanished, leaving smoother, more youthful skin in its wake.  Even more noteworthy, makeup can be applied directly over this mask without hazard...no dreaded peeling or pilling...tres magnifique!  Due to its utilitarian nature and ability to play well with makeup, I would deem this little gem a beauty companion, rather than purely a skincare product.  Try it.  s

Space.NK Shopping Suggestions:  The following are but a few of my favorite products available at Space.NK, with links to their swatch-heavy, comprehensive reviews on BP...
The entire contents of the *Spring Beauty Edit.

      Classic Tatcha packaging.
Next up, a quick overview of the stunning Tatcha Sunrise Plum Blossom Lipstick.  Gorgeously packaged, this limited-edition creation features a glossy, weighty white case and a finely sculpted, highly moisturizing bullet of rich pinky plum color.

Formulated with nourshing ingredients and no scent, this natural pink applies sheerly for a wash of "my lips but better" beauty and can also be built up for more opacity (as demonstrated in the images that follow). Creamy, hydrating and extremely versatile, Sunrise Plum Blossom is effortless opulence at its best...much like the vibrant Kyoto Red(which is out of stock) this shade is predicted to sell out quickly.

In sum, if this lip color calls your name like it did mine, I urge you to act fast as I do not suspect it will be readily available for much longer!

Weekend Wonderment: Tom Ford Honeymoon (and Some Potential Dupes) + Swatches of ALL Shades of the Armani Maestro Glow

Happy weekend to you, lovelies!  What do you have planned for this Valentine's Day? If all goes as planned for me, I'll be indulging in a rare day home with my husband and pup, enjoying a mellow afternoon together. When it comes to special occasions, I tend to be a girl of simple taste ; )

Today's post is dedicated to an easy-to-achieve look culminating from a few products I've been reaching for constantly as of late, including the elusive Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Honeymoon and the Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Foundation (with swatches of EVERY shade, to boot).  I've even extended some suggestions for eye shadow colors similar to TF Honeymoon for those who may not have had the chance to pick up this "blink and you'll miss it" shade option!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...

I'd like to say that the inordinately warm weather we've been having in Southern California has caused me to gravitate towards lush neutrals and bronzy tones, complimented by slightly shiny nude lip...but let's face it, I tend to gravitate toward this look year round!

For the look that follows, I used:

      Tom Ford Honeymoon.
As to be expected, the Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Honeymoon is all sorts of gorgeous...consequently, this particular palette sold out in a flash, both online, and in-store.  A couple of weeks ago, I was fortunate to have stumbled upon the last one at my local TF counter and promptly snapped it up.  Although I am told it was limited-edition, there is a sliver of hope that it will be re-released in the future (much like the neutral-lover's dream, Nude Dip).  The silky and pigmented quad contains:
      • A light, warm, shimmering taupe
      • A glowing bronze
      • A rich, incandescent wine (the hero shade, in my opinion)
      • A deep, glowing aubergine

If you, like so many, missed out on Honeymoon, some other eyeshadow options that offer the rich, shimmering warmth of this sold out wonder include:
